Makes sense to have one.
So far we know that you can play as a guy and a girl, their names are Sonia and Azel, and they're in the same body. Anything else?

Lots of new info from a conference call... thing.

quote NintendoGal
- Request system is back (previously in Rune Factory 3: A Fantasy Harvest Moon)
- No lead platform per say, however originally for Wii (not PS3)
- No Classic Controller support
- Main story is robust and will be approximately 60 hours
- About 20 “permanent” islands, more uncovered with Ymir, a golem you control
- More suitors for males than females
- Story revolves Aden and Sonja being stuck in one body
- You start in the body of Aden, but Sonja can make comments on what you are and aren’t doing
- In order to play as Sonja, you need to figure out why they’re stuck in one body
- Festivals will be present, but not as many as in the Nintendo DS version
- Both PS3 and Wii versions were localized at the same time, started approximately in April/May and went gold officially today September 22nd
- Less focus on the social aspect of the game and more focused on the mythical/battle gameplay
- Not as complex in farming, however crops will still produce Rune Points
- Story and battles more complex
- Thousands of voice actor lines, English only, no Japanese option
- Nothing as whacky as “Opposite Girl,” but still some crazy characters in the game
- Two types of quest, side quests and main story
- Side quests may be fetch quests, but also ones that will promote exploring
- Once the main story finishes, you can still play the game, which is where the split comes in and the game goes from linear to non-linear
- To travel approximately 1/5 of the map can take half a day in game time
- Tutorials are detailed and beginning is full of information, but they’ve tried not to make them long to be both appealing to veterans and new comers
- $39.99 for the Wii version, $49.99 for PS3
And some other stuff about the future of the RF series and Natsume in general.

quote
- Natsume aims at niche markets mostly but will also aim for mass market, expecting niche
- Trying to really separate Harvest Moon out from the Rune Factory franchise
- Have been looking at PSVita
- Natsume’s new online store opened in September
- Store is already sold out of Harvest Moon: The Tale of Two Towns pre-orders, no more expected for store due to allocation
- Store is a learning process for the company
- Online store may have exclusive products, but if retailers want a piece of the action, they’ll bring it to them as well
- Pre-order bonuses are sent to Canada, but with a smaller allocation to coincide with smaller unit sales as compared to the US
- Gabrielle’s Ghostly Groove 3D is up for pre-order on the online store

Release date discussed in this thread. Haven't been too keen with keeping up on media here, but I found this and was surprised no one else had before me. :<

So, the game's confirmed for North America 2011? Great! Haha, hopefully it'll be released right around the holidays or something.

Hoping they make the wii version worth something for once, to be honest.

It's pretty much been confirmed there will be no same-sex marriages.
quote
After solving the mystery tied to this strange curse you can select to play as either one of the characters instead of playing as the two together. One slight issue with the female path is that she only has three marriage suitors instead of the male path's nine, although both sides will be able to produce offspring to help out on the farm.

That's what you think.
Admittedly it's only a mock marriage, but it should still prove to be entertaining (assuming Natsume don't panic and cut it, of course).

Natsume announced that the game would be out in NA this year (2011).

You live in Europe, right?
I can guarantee that Oceans won't be out here until at least next year. Even the US release may well not be out till early next year.

Problem to me is i need to save up cash for something else. So i cant spend too much cash. So if i get frontier thats pretty much the last game ill be buying this year. unless oceans wont be out for atleast that, i dont think ill be getting frontier.

Becuase they are completely different?
If there were a book series you like, would you, say, miss out number 4 in the series just because you new than number 5 would be out soon?

Frontier is, and always will be, an exellent game in its own right. And no matter how good Oceans may end up being, Frontier will always be different enough that it is well worth playing.

Why buy frontier with a new version on the horizon?
