Swan Song is my favorite by far tempted to read it again in the near future as its my favorite book ive read.

For ones not mentioned that i can see in here are last light and after light which deals with life after oil production stops, Bring forth the end of days where earths oxygen levels fall below livable limits and on the third day they die which is about a mysterious disease.

Earth abides by George Stewart is by far the best of them.

Damn, beaten.

I Am Legend is second to none.

I am Legend is beautiful, and fairly short. You're messing up if you haven't read it. Naturally, my vote goes to that.
+1, good read in my opinion, Woulda been a dumb movie if they tried to follow it more closely with the book. I view them as two seperate entity's with the same name

I don't think so. Dune is a great series, but it's more in the vein of futuristic sci-fi/fantasy than post-apocalyptic.

Regardless, it's a great series and any serious sci-fi fan likely has read it.

The Stand is just a classic. I love it. I just got done reading eternity road, and I have to say, it's pretty Good book.
I agree, excellent book.
Its by Stephen King if anyone is interested.

I would recommend getting the unabridged version, a little longer, but way better than the shortened version.

I know this genre just from movies & games (Fallout) but I red one book which hadn't been mentioned yet.

Cormac McCarthy : The Road.
