Welcome to the July 2010 edition of Buy/Rent/Ignore DS Style, where we take a look at the month's coming releases and see what's going to break the bank this month. I am going to step in for Akira this month, since it seems as if he isn't planning on doing it this month (if you were, my bad Akira... but I saved you some time! ) All credit to the layout and a lot of the text go to him. I'm very unoriginal.
The big game this month is of course Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Skies. Square Enix's beloved series has never quite caught on in the United States, but they are hoping that this latest installment will change that trend.
Using the ultra-simple terminology, we can denote our preferences like so:
Buy: "I want this game", "I'm getting this game", or "I must have it" Rent: "I'll look into it", "I'll check it out", or "It's on my radar, but it's not a must have." Ignore: "Screw it, I'm not getting this"
This is all pulled from Amazon US; therefore, it's North American releases only. Sorry, international gamers. Please let me know of any (noteworthy) omissions.

I do want the game but I think I should complete V first, even though they are not linked at all.
Haha, I have a copy of DQ VIII sitting somewhere in my house, lonely and forgotten. I bought it one time on a whim, played it for an hour, played the FFXII demo inside for a few minutes, and never opened it again. A sad tale indeed.
It truly is. You missed out on one of the best RPG experiences of the last generation. I'm about to start my third playthrough.
I will personally shove this game down your throats if you ignore it or just rent it. DQ deserves much more love than it actually gets outside of Japan.
This.
Glad they're actually advertising this one, with the Seth Green commercials.

My brother.
Seeing as how DQIX only has one save file and everything.
