I have just published a Mod, and noticed and option to allow other people to remix my Mod. Now my first thoughts were "hey that good they can improve it" seeing as I'm not the best Mod maker by any stretch. Then when i was looking at Tracks, Mods and Karts to download i saw that some people restrict the rights to 'Remix' their uploads. Now, i can understand why they would restrict the rights maybe they want that Track (For Example) to be left like that or maybe they think someone might steal the track as theirs.

Here come my questions (& discussions points if you will);
  • Do you restrict the rights to your creations? Why?
  • Would you like other people to change/improve your creations?

I didn't claim that my kart was the best, either. And if I'm ever looking down my nose at anyone, it's because I'm taller than them.

2) I never once claimed my mods were the best. Just that yours weren't. Which is why your panties are in a knot right now. If you're so terrified of criticism, then why are you entering a creation competition in which your creations are judged for points?
Incorrect, i am angry because you look down youre nose at everyone, as if they are not worthy of you.

Now, i dont mind critisism, ive been in that contest for ages and never won, its when some dick arrives and starts showing his, which may i say looks dull, creation, and proclaiming that i is the best, thats when i get pissed.

1) If I didn't believe my opinions were best, then obviously they wouldn't be my opinions. The same goes for you or anyone else anywhere. If I come off strongly, I apologize - it's meant to make a point, not to offend.

I'm high and mighty because I have an opinion that you disagree with. Gotcha, guy who wants me to do what he says but clearly isn't high and mighty himself. Clearly.
haha, funny dat

i dont want you to follow uleds, but 90% of yur posts are "my mods are the best" or "just because my opinion is best"

Now let me finos with some nonsensical gibberish.

To each his own, clearly, dogs, monkey, cats...

50 messages from people whose opinions clearly don't matter, IMO, but to each his own. I have idiots badmouthing me ingame all day, every day, remix rights or not. And offline. On Neoseeker. Everywhere else on the internet. The world is full of stupid people, there's no escaping them. You're not doing yourself any favors by flipping out on people with that sloppy mess of grammar you use, it hardly makes you stand out from them.
oh i am so sorry, i didnt know i was in front of royalty.

Do escuse me while i lick your boots clean sir.

I repeat my previous comments, stop acting so high and mighty over the nets, its really starting to piss peoiple off (i.e. me)

Mr idiot who i had a go at on the creation contest for acting so "High and Mighty":

Now, my mods arent great, i accept that, but for some reason or another, someone remixxed my mod.

Now, they republished it and so i got the xp, which i was happy about.

Except they had made it look ABSOULUTELY DISGUSTING, and the title was "Never even changed"
He had made my half-good mod into something that looked like it had gone through a paper shredder.

I got about 50 messages saying: "yur mods are shit"

THAT IS WHY I LOCK ALL MY CREATIONS.

And if he gave it to the museum free of charge, he would still have the right to do whatever he liked with it? I'd say it's a pretty accurate analogy, personally.

And a lot of things are human nature. Anger, assault, and theft are human nature. That doesn't make them right. The reasons you gave me are invalid - someone doesn't want anyone modifying their work while still crediting the original author and giving the original piece more exposure. Why? Without a validated reason, he or she has no reason to feel that way, and thus no argument.

Ok then, I alrdy gave a couple reason but u still cant accept it. Then I guess I cant help. Maybe someone else know the reason if they come here and answer.

And if u want to call those ppl selfish, then yah. Most ppl that publish their work are selfish, sure. Its human nature. Thats just how it is.

And to answer this:
quote Xelrog T Apocalypse
By your logic, an artist has the right to break into a museum and burn the painting he sold to them just because he doesn't think it's his best work anymore. After all, it's his painting.
Nah thats wrong. He alrdy sold them to the museum. It belongs to the museum. He cant do anything anymore. The museum is the one that can do anything with it. Whatever they want. Whether they show it in the museum or just keep it in the store room, the artist cant do anything since he already sold them. It doesnt belong to him anymore.
