My team is:

And an Eevee. So should I make it an espeon or an umbreon?

I would say espeon because it's faster and looks cooler

Can somebody tell me the difference of the 2 and when to evolve? I'm training for the Elite 4 and my team is, Sudowoodo lvl 39, Eevee lvl 27, Red Gyarados lvl 44, Growlithe lvl 39, Pidgeot lvl 39, Feraligatr lvl 46. I also have a Raticate at lvl 33, Togepi at lvl 21 but not sure if it grows to be good? and Butterfree at lvl 32 but is really weak.

I know I have 2 water types but I love them both and makes it easier to share HMs

Edit - if I was to get rid of anything it would be Sudowoodo. Great tank when I first got it but at higher levels its coming against a lot of weaknesses, eg Earthquake

My lvl 20 eevee is jolly in nature, which boosts its speed stat as I understand it. Seems like this thread is leaning more toward umbreon. I had initially planned to go with espeon (I even named my eevee Espeon in advance lol) but I like the idea of a tank over a squishy glass cannon or whatever espeon is supposed to be. So which should I choose, considering my eevee's nature is jolly? Im thinking espeon just because speed and offense go well together.

Umbreon is personally, one of my all time favorite Pokemon, and would choose him over Espeon in almost any situation

It's Defense and Special Defense are top notch, though it's moveset isn't the most impressive. However, Umbreon can become a unique Teammate due to the moves it does happen to have in it's arsenal; a combination of Toxic and Confuse Ray can truly put a hurting on your opponent. Couple that with Attract or Double Team, and your opponent will really be in for a very tough, and very annoying battle. It wasn't until I chose Umbreon in my current playthrough that I truly recognized his brilliance when it comes down to obtaining a strategic victory.

Umbreon is tougher and looks cooler but it doesnt learn very good moves and has a pretty weak attack. Espeon can't take much, but can deal a lot of damage and learn a fair few good moves. I call them equal.

I don't have either just yet but the answer is obvious...Umbreon, why? because Umbreon is dark type, Espeon is psychic, dark type pokemon/moves are super effective against psychic types. any questions? Class is over!
