i tried so many times and i still cant kill him i know i can sonic bomb him when he dig but still couldnt beat him i tried to roll when he swing his tail but it never seems to work he still hit me reeeeelly hard im using thunderclap+ and rathian armor and one question about LS how do you hit high with LS i tried to cut off his tail but i hardly able to hit it even when he stand still

Majestic horns get handed out like candy online. I got 6 Majestics and a Stout in the rewards once. Now if only I could see some more stouts come my way. :'(

Easiest way, just go get a lance. I killed it with another lancer easily. But it is true that a lot of people hate Diablo. When I posted the quest the other day, one player said:"I can't do diablo. I die too quick."

yea, you can use any traps on him. the one most effective trap-the sonic bomb. when its like the limping part for him, its game over. i have los+ armor which gives me critical eye+2 and a sabertooth G lance, but since critical eye increases affinity by the amount u gemmed it up to, its affinity is 75%. just sonic bomb when hes weak, and hes just literally pwned to death. This is how it looks hes hes weakened and digs for a long time. Sonic bomb-stuck Sonic Bomb-stuck(yet again) 3rd sonic bomb-yep,hes dead.xDDD

Majestic Horn is a possible reward if you break both horns. In Low Rank it's an 8% chance and in High Rank it's a 24% chance. I always get them in High Rank quests it seems (though finally got Stout Horn today).
Best way to go about it is bombing or blue sharpness and up weapons. Interestingly, Diablos takes 2.5 times the amount of damage from cutting damage than it does impact damage when it comes to the head. The more you know.

hit and run, if you use a GS, try using an armor with double draw, it should help to wear him down since in theory you stun him and deal more damage, and now that we are talking about this, how do we get majestic horns?

I'm using the Sieglinde GS for decent raw damage (748 with my power talisman) and a nice poison status (320 poison damage) to make sure monsters are losing health as often as possible. I bring all the healing items I can think of (10 potions, 10 Mega Potions, 3 Lifepowders, and 10 herbs, blue mushrooms, and honey so I can make more mega potions when I run out) as well as plenty of sonic bombs (not that they do much seeing as I can never switch from potions to sonic bombs quick enough to throw one when diablos is digging) and I bring Cha Cha as a distraction so I have some moments to heal.
Yet this guy is still very difficult. I always hated Barroth (at least back when I was first fighting him and had low armor/damage) and Diablos is seemingly just a quicker, feistier version of him who digs more often and does it a lot quicker.
The problem is whenever I am infront of him he charges me or horn swipes me so I have to approach from the back, however that never works because almost every attack he does ends up moving his deadly tail in a way that prevents me from coming close. So I try (and often fail) to approach the side and when I finally get under him it never lasts long (I usually get 2-3 hits in) before he charges forward and I get hit by his legs.
Anyone have an idea of how I'm supposed to get under him and stay there?

I've played every Monster Hunter game that was released in EU, old habits die hard.
If he takes ages to dig into the sand (he tries 3 times before actually going in) it means he is exhausted and won't be able to rage until he regains stamina. You can often just sonic lock him until he dies after he reaches this point because he just keeps on trying to dig and you can keep on sonic bombing him. Normally when he is exhausted you will also have already done enough damage to capture him, but it's not a gaurantee. Remember: Be patient, only attack when the time is right, and only sonic when he isn't enraged.

Yep. Don't forget what Joel said. I'm HR 58 and I still see loads of people spamming sonics at him even when he's enraged.. Waste

If you're not experienced enough with Diablos and fight too agressive when he's in rage mode (he will be 80% of the fight), he will finish you off in no-time, just like Barioth. I'd say go for the ice lance (Barioth) so you can block all of his attacks and have pretty decent range, or the ice sns (also Barioth mats) if you're good with them. I usually have a pretty easy time against him using the sns, mainly because I can attack all the time, even when he's in rage mode. Also some nice tricks you probably know already: -When there's black smoke coming out of his mouth, he's in rage mode. Careful. -When he's underground, throw a sonic bomb just after his tail dissapeared. -Bring as many traps as possible cause they simply make stuff easier. -I don't think I've ever seen Diablos limping, his way of limping is to dig VERY slowly, this is the time for you to capture him, it's easier than taking away that last 20% of health. Plus he still hurts alot, even when he's weak. -Simply try not to get hit. In offline there's no one else he can attack (unless you bring Cha-Cha), so if he's in rage mode and hits you with a charge, he will probably charge you another 1-2 times. Very deadly.
Meh. That list isn't that usefull I think. Oh well, try different weapons on him. I find slow weapons to be less effective agaisnt Diablos. Good luck
