I think the worst region is hoenn. It's just half land half water. And half of that land you can't get to until you travel at least 50 times around one stinking area!
The storyline is boring... It's like omg team magma and aqua are fighting! I'm gonna stop them.
The gyms are annoying ( Brawly... I just hate him for some reason) and the elite four is ok .
The only thing I really liked is the battle frontier.
On the contrary the best region is without a doubt johto! Classic!
What's your opinion on this

Hoenn is my personal favorite. Starting with the legendary's and heading down to the basic Pokemon themselves are awesome. My other opinion though is probably might be the johto. Sinnoh suck's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My favorite has to be Johoto. After I got done playing yellow when I was like 8 and got silver the game just blew me away.
Next has to be Kanto. I spent the most amount of time in it between red, blue nd' yellow.
Next Sinnoh. It was kind of mediocre. But the distortion world was phenomenal - nothing has matched that part of the game since.. But that is the only reason it is on here. The gameplay of regular sinnoh is mediocre. With platinum you get all the way to the e4 having your *awesome* Pokémon and then you get destroyed. Which makes me hate the game a lot.
Next Black's region. Unova..?
Last Hoen. I liked ruby a little but the e4 was easy as well as the champ. I tried playing emerald and it was just mad boring.

The best region for me? I'd probably say Sinnoh. The map was ok/ horrible with a lot of it in caves, but I just loved some of the legendaries(Dialga,Palkia,Arceus,Giratina,Darkrai),I hated the rest. The main winner for me was those 5 legendaries being able to use their signature moves..
Worst has to be Unova, sure the grophics were nice but the pokemon. I feel they were horribly designed and I thought a lot of it looked like older pokemon but altered a little.
Well... there's my list. I'm actually not sure of the order of Kalos, Hoenn, and Unova, since... I probably love them all equally.
Kalos, because I think it has the best locations. Hoenn, because of nostalgia, and I think it is the most unique region. Unova, because it has the best music. Johto, because it has the best pokedex. Sinnoh, because it is nostalgic, but it got boring after a while. Kanto, because it's what started it all, but that doesn't mean that I enjoyed actually traveling through it as much as I enjoyed traveling through the other regions.

My favourite regions in order of decreasing awesomeness. 1.Johto. Reason loved the graphics so pretty.SO pretty. I loved the whole basic style routes and basic levels until you reached Kanto, I was really able to go along at my own speed, stopping to just take in the beauty of Goldenrod and the Bell Tower and altogether just loving every single graphic of it. No doubt in my mind Johto was just such a beautiful region. 2. Kalos has made it onto my list. So cool thats all to say... 3. Kanto, basic region, basic design, basic gyms, basic storyline.= One of favourites ever. No reason just unbearable nostalgia when I restart my Leafgreen each time.(No I never played Red or Blue except on emulators.) 4.Sinnoh Cool region loved Mt.Coronets domineerance and cities like Veilstone and Eterna as well as Jubilife. I have platinum and therefore it of course looks so much better than in pearl each city does. 5. Hoenn. Disaster... 6.Unova I just dont want to speak about it it was the worst pokemon game of all time and I feel it is best forgotten.

I haven't played through all of the regions, but I'll speak from my knowledge of other sources...
I really liked Johto, but that might be because SS was my first game. I liked the Pokemon, (hell yes Ampharos), I liked the cities, and of course I love Lugia...but also I never got awfully strong in that game, since most of the wild pokemon were VERY low level, and I didn't quite know what I was doing with pokemon and move selection at the time. I also really loved Unova! I liked the more compelling storyline and all of the new Pokemon were great-- even if you ONLY get unova pokemon. Lots of cool places. I've never played through Hoenn, so my opinion isn't really valid, but its probably the worst. None of the pokemon looked or even sounded like Pokemon... They almost resembled digimon or Neopets.

The best for me would be Johto (HGSS)
One of the things that won me over with Johto was the incredible atmosphere. I felt the same way back when I was 12 and played Crystal. When you combine the layout of the game with the incredible music, you get this really cozy feeling, especially during the first part of the game. If you play during the evening or night, that feeling gets even stronger when you go through the little towns with the dim lights and everything. The game also have a ton of legends and tales to tell, not just the ones related to the legendaries, but also smaller ones like the Sprout Tower. I also like the villains in this region. Team Rocket had a lot of focus in Kanto, but I never really found them interesting in that region because their plans were boring, and you never really felt that they were much of a threat.
In Johto however, they get to do a lot of stuff. I like how they start off as poachers, stealing Slowpoke tales, and then they start doing bigger experiments, kidnappings etc. The games really wants you to see that Team Rocket has been reorganized and learned from their mistakes in Kanto. I find them much more interesting than Team Magma and Team Aqua, who just seemed like a bunch of insane cossplayers, who didn't even fully understand what their plans would lead to.
With the introduction of Pokéathlon in HGSS, I think the creators more than made up for the lack of long routes and traveling. I found myself staying in Goldenrod City for 2 days, just playing Pokéathlon and competing in the Bug Catching Contest . Its very very addictive.
Overall, Johto is just a fun, cozy region.
The only downside to the games was Kanto. Yes I know everyone loves Kanto, but in both GSC and HGSS, I always found Kanto to be really really depressing. It feels like going back to your childhood town, only to find that everything that was fun about it is gone. There are no real challenges. You just rush straight through, and you get the feeling that the region has not seen a Pokemon trainer for years, especially when you visit some of the gyms. If they had at LEAST included an extra league, or some large scale Team Rocket plot, then it would have made up for it. But just having an empty region with pushover gym leaders? That's just boring. Imagine what they could have done if they had removed Kanto and used all that space for Johto. We could have gotten much longer routes and more interesting areas to explore. A real shame.
