According to how far you've got into the game, go to the place that has the highest Pokemon level.

That little 2x4 patch of grass just outside the Mt. Silver Pokecenter is what I used. May not be the best, but I leveled up so much crap there I (quite unintentionally) found two shiny Tangela in that one little area.

For higher level pokemon training (level 50 and up) I found that in heartgold/soulsilver once you get all 16 badges you can re-challenge a gym leader and they will have pokemon in the 50-60 level range. Simply find out their pokegear number and then call them at their dedicated time to fight them in the Fighting Dojo and then once you beat them you can leave and call them again and they will be there again for you to fight them. I do this over and over again to strengthen my pokemon using their type advantages over some gym leaders. Having a lucky egg helps greatly while doing this.

u just take all of the above and use them all and it should be pretty fast but a good idea is to go ahead as far as possible and battle higher level pokemon

What I did was ( when you have surf ) Go into the water near Cinnawood. The Tentacools / Tentacruels give massive experience I did that and it's fast compared to grassy areas~

You should not use the quick switch method except for very very low level pokemon, or the daycare. This is because these methods don't give your pokemon upped stats so you could end up with a level 100 pokemon who only does 1 damage per hit. Just take your time and train them.

you should take pokemon to the daycare center and then put another pokemon in the pokewalker and the rest just battle.
