technically, he would do 8, but at most he would only hit four targets, just like with dual wield. I'd suggest only using the rapidfire monk until you also have dual wield and weapons more powerful than barehanded (or you could just use two handed, but it has drawbacks, such as only half the chance of doing a critical hit as dual wield, there are pros and cons to it all, but that's the gist of it). honestly, barehanded is good at first, but only to a point

Hello, I have just started playing playing FFV GBA after playing FFIII and hearing that V's Job system was even better. So far, it looks like everything about V is better than III. Except that I like to have a barehanded melee attacker in my party at all times.
Looking the Job FAQs I notice that most people suggest not using Barehanded for anything except it's +26 STR after one has unlocked !Rapid Fire since it should be paired with !Dual Wield for the most damage. Since Barehanded attacks are already dual wielded, I'm left with the impression that the Barehanded equivalent of !Dual Wield doesn't stack with !Rapid Fire. Since my FFIII Monk currently does 18-20 hits per round I would be rather upset if this is so. Which leads me, finally, to my question. If I equip Barehanded and !Rapid Fire on the same character will he do 4 attacks bare handed, or will he do 8?
