You can write here everything about last boss and his role in FFIX or about difficults and eases battling with him.

The reason that everyone attributes FFIX to past FF's is because it's design intent was to be a throwback to past FF's. It was always intended to be more for the hardcore fans of the first games and contained many references and in-jokes.

Necron was way easier than Ozma, but Kuja was such a little pansy against Shock and Holy I didn't get to have any fun.

i beat necron in under 2 minutes. Kuja was WAAAAAAAY harder in my opinion.

I thought Necron is just a freaking summon, thrown by Kuja who was a sore loser.

PS : If ya can defeat Ozama, this guy could be a pushover.

Great theory, Oglop.

My persona theory is that Necron was actually the missasimillation of souls that the Iifa Tree failed to cross over. Because of Garland and Kuja's messing with things that should never be messed with, Necron was given form and saw through the eyes of Kuja and Garland, therefore not realizing the importance of love, friendship, yadda yadda yadda. When Garland died, Necron began to wonder about life, and how things were ment to come to an end. His own theory was, I believe, that "Curiousity leads to knowledge, knowledge leads to fear, fear leads to hate, hate leads to destruction" (sorry if I messed it up, it's been a while since my FFIX days) He believed that if he could revery life to the Zero World, he would be doing us all a favor. When he saw Kuja's thoughts and feelings, he believed his theory was true(which it kind of was) and then decided to put his plan into action. Kuja was weakened because of Necron's influence( after all, Kuja destroys Terra without looking twice at it, yet Zidane and friends beat him? Unlikely) and went to his Plan B, kill everything with him. He killed Zidane and his friends and then died himself, but Zidane and friend's will to live let their souls go to the Zero World, where ecron was prepared to finish their souls forever. Then final boss fight cues,(I win on my 1st try, Shock FTW!) and record-long(not really) ending movie starts. Necron, knowing he is defeated, send their souls back to their world and then returns to Kuja's newly re-created body. Him doing this is the explanation for him saying " As long as life goes on, so shall I" or something like that. Here's where things get funky, if they weren't already. Kuja wants to say goodbye to Zidane, and being the hero he is, Zidane goes to save him. After Zidane's epic gymnastics routine thorugh the Iifa Tree, he comes to Kuja, who Necron realizes is an unfit vessel and will not last long. So, tainted by the powers of good, Necron uses his last energy to go into Zidane's soul, and thus saves Zidane from his untimely demise. Necron then goes to a different vessel, or just withers away at this point. The entire thing seems far-fetched, but at least some parts might be useful in this topic. Also, I believe that SoulCage's connection with Necron is that SoulCage was the original Necron, but in a form too unstable. SoulCage was defeated and the souls pent up inside went back into it, creating the more powerul Necron.

P.S: How do I make a picture for my signature?

Taking Yumpster's thought into consideration, I did start a new thread on Crossover Theories. Please feel free to check it out and give your input!

This is an interesting conversation though. Perhaps you should start a new thread to discuss it, or carry it over into the General Discussion thread. This forum has been hurting for some posts lately. I assume everyone is just busy.

True, that. But this is one of the rare cases where the worlds of two of the games (or more) may actually be the same or intertwined. I kinda saw the same between FFIII and FFV, although for the record I still haven't beaten FFIII yet.

Still, based on what I've played through and what people say, those two have pretty much the same plot.

Wow, how DID we get off track? Maybe I should encourage us to steer back to the whole Necron thing!
