Yeah, skill doesn't seem to enter into the equation here. Out of all the challenges I've tried (I'm stuck on 8) only maybe 1 or 2 required any real skill, the rest were luck.
Case in point, challenge room 8 is full of medusas and soldiers....I keep getting frozen of course (sometimes THREE medusi are trying to freeze you at once), and sometimes enemies get lucky hits before I free myself, usually they're ALREADY attacking right when I'm frozen. Luck, not skill on the enemy's part. THe game doesn't even tell you how many you have to kill either, so I keep playing and playing hoping the enemy doesn't get a lucky hit, and eventually the luck runs out.
I'm getting really pissed, I'll probably beat it eventually, but the Challenge of the Gods is an exercise in frustration more than anything else ~_~

I remember having gow 1 on ps2. i beat challenge of the gods. then i get it on the ps3 thinking cotg will be a migrane and i blew through da whole thing on meh 1st try:D

I was over at a friend's house when he was trying to beat the challenges for God of War 1, and never having played a God of war game before, I was able to beat all the challenges with ease. I don't see why people find them so hard. There are tons of guides on youtube and most of the challenges involve spamming a certain attack. Challenge 8 literally took us less than 5 tries.

I'm not sure of the moves name, but i think it is called Rise of Hermes and is L1 and X which hits enemies into the air and when repeated Kratos spins the blades round in mid air... i basically spam this airbourne attack!
It slowly pushes the enemies out of range (and out of the arena) while in mid-air, and i believe that it also negates the Satyr's blocking... A quick burst of Rage of the Gods near the finish and victory is quite simple!

The only negativity is challenge 10 on GoW1 challenges of the gods, it's virtually a pain in the ass to deal with the satyrs and the exploading pupps trying to raise the platform. I did do it, but really it's a load of shit that requires zero skill just luck, which is why me and many hates it.

I don't know about all this negativity and ranting, but i have some advice...
Go on Youtube and find the individual challanges, watch the tutorials and copy the methods that the uploader has used, to complete the challanges.
I had next to no trouble completing GOW 1 and 2's challanges at all, so i highly recommend Youtube tutorials (or do what i did, and make notes for each challange as you watch the video for later reference!).
God of War 3's challange of Olympus makes these challanges look more like a walk in a park!!!

The only one I hate is 10, this it's the worst challenge, and it's not even a challenge really. This is why I like God of War 3 the challenges wasn't hard it was doable except for challenge 3 which was based on luck tho.

i am so confused about this dumb challenge of the gods. i'm stuck on 4 =/ i dont like the whole kill the hard ones but dont touch the other ones. i cant even knock the undead out of the arena to make it easier so i dont have them hounding me the whole time and in my way. the minotaurs arent hard at all. its keeping the damn undead alive. any tips?

With at least one of those though, I don't remember having real difficulty.

I have to say that I hated challenge of the gods also and would have rather played GOW1 on god mode to get the platinum instead of challenge of the gods. Challenge 8 was the worst for me. Challenge 10 I just keep hitting L1+X and then while in the air L1+O. I think anyone reading this who hasn't done it yet needs to remember that you will fail multiple times in the challenges 8-10. In 8 they just keep coming and do not stop. But at the end, it is def worth a gold trophy.
