quote
From Dan Harmon ("The Sarah Silverman Program") and Emmy Award-winning directors Joe and Anthony Russo ("Arrested Development") comes "Community," a smart comedy series about a band of misfits who attend Greendale Community College. At the center of the group is Jeff Winger (Joel McHale, "The Soup"), a fast-talkin' lawyer whose degree has been revoked. With some help from his fellow classmates, Winger forms a study group who eventually learn more about themselves than their course work.

Also among the series stars who comprise the group are comedy legend Chevy Chase ("Chuck") as Pierce, a man whose life experience has brought him infinite wisdom; Gillian Jacobs ("The Book of Daniel") as Britta, the 28-year old drop out with something to prove; Yvette Nicole Brown ("Rules of Engagement") as Shirley, a sassy middle-aged divorcée; Danny Pudi ("Greek") as Abed, a pop culture junkie; Alison Brie ("Mad Men") as Annie, a high-strung perfectionist; Donald Glover ("30 Rock") as Troy, a former high school football star trying to find his way and Ken Jeong ("The Hangover") as Spanish professor, Señor Chang.

So how bad was this show? Maybe I was too hyped for it, I don't know. But the way it was built up as the funniest new show and one of the best shows of the fall, this pilot episode bombed. I don't think I've ever seen that much forced humor in the span of twenty minutes before. Maybe I'll give it a couple more episodes, see where it goes. But if the rest of the show is like this first episode, then instant bomb.

Only thing I laughed at the whole episode was the "I'mma give my book to Slumdog Millionaire over here." At least Allison Brie (the brunette) was hot, otherwise I'd have changed channel halfway through.

Binge watched the first 6 seasons and I am a bit depressed it's all over.

Hoping for a season 7.

First episode was very reminiscent of seasons 2-3. Really, really enjoyed it! Hope the rest of the season continues with that quality!

Great return to form with the first episode of Yahoo Season. I really enjoyed it and had some actual LOL moments which is rare for me with any comedy. Just starting on ep 2 now.

It needed to die. Season's 1 and 2 were some of the funniest things ever created. Season 3 went down hill very quickly after the first 10 episodes. Season 4 and 5 were horrible for the most part. It had nothing to do with Harmon leaving or coming back, the writing just got bad. It became common to overuse side characters and run them into the ground or to overuse old plots like the forts. Hot Lava became Paintball 3.0
I don't enjoy something, so I wish it was gone so nobody else could enjoy it either!

Luckily the same reason this show attracts people who will never be happy with anything but the old ones is also the same reason it attracts people who somehow keep it alive.

well if you keep latching onto the first few seasons of course you'll feel that way. fortunately some people love to move on the status quo was always going to change

i agree the app development episode was the best episode of season 5. lie detector episode closely behind with pierce *bleep*ing with their heads beyond the grave

hickey has been a great addition, i like him more than prof duncan tbh
