I wouldn’t go as far as saying I got a grade A just a shiny gold star.

As I’ve grown older I now see Sephiroth and personally think he would be more reckless and with no consideration for the safely of others with a habit of emerging from missions with just himself as the survivor.
Reckless? No, just too much expectation on other which they could not fullfill. That's my opinion.

Like, you can run 80 miles per hour, but everyone else seems to be doing 20 miles per hour. You can speed ahead, but you have to stop and wait for others to catch up to you, which can be annoying after while. I guess that's wat happens if you're a Super Soldier.

Hey, it's ain't Sephiroth's fault if others kept getting killed. They simply ain't strong enough.

I don't believe Sephiroth was really "insane". Yes, when he learned about his origins, he went berserk, but after a while I believe he was more enlightened. He took on Jevova's will, which really isn't insanity. Jenova was basically just a being that would travel planet to planet devouring everything and living forever. In a bigger sense, it's just what comes naturally to it. Since Jenova's influence on him caused him to think similarly, I don't think anyone can really call it insanity. Maybe as a human, it would be insane, but the moment he gained the ability to absorb power and live forever, he was just doing what comes naturally, or what "came" naturally to Jenova, since he took over her will.

Sadly I was expecting Sepheroth to be more like Todd the wraith than anything with a little bit of Flash Gordon style… all I’m going to say is I was expecting Sepheroth to be quite persistent in his youth with every Soldier looking up to him for his heroic behaviour and only him.

I’ll give you an example. Remember those Gelnika plains things at Junon, I remember writing about Sepheroth when I was at school for a English class about how cool he was and how he jumped in a Gelnika when Midgar was been over run with monsters and crashed it into the Shinra building and he survived without a scratch on him, saved the president, defeated all the monsters with help from Solidier of course… blhah..blhah

You get it, I had quite the imagination when I was younger and my student teacher at the time loved it as she gave me a gold star and everyone else go silver star.
So you wrote a fanfics for a school work and your teacher actually gave you an A???
Legends are never like the real characters. Legends are legends.

I actually liked the Sephiroth I saw in CC. He was alot like the fellow in Cloud's flashback in Kalm. Easy going, talk nicely to Cloud and Tifa, even explain things. I think SQUARE based that when they designed the character in CC.

Actually, Sephiroth in CC was an important part of the game. This occurred before his fall (and eventual fall at the end of the game) into madness.

I never liked the version of Sephiroth from Crisis Core as I found him boring and again that’s another opinion of mine. [/color]
Actually, Sephiroth in CC was an important part of the game. This occurred before his fall (and eventual fall at the end of the game) into madness.

Both Genesis and Angelus had experience degeneration in term of mentality and physical debilation, which suggest that Jenova cells are incompatible to human - a proof that Jenova was indeed an alien being and not some advanced form of humans called the Ancients. A concept which SQUARE reused in Dirge of Cerebus with the DeepGound.

I think SQUARE was showing that Sephiroth's descend to madness wasn't just due to the revealation he got from Nibelheim Mansion. Those revealations were just the straw that broke the camel's (or in this case, Sephiroth's) back.

I said Sephiroth could be considered child like in my opinion and its an personal view based on how I see Sepheroth. I firmly and always have believed that Sephiroth took full control of Jenova and his characteristics, his persona took over and Jenova was powerless to stop it.

I never liked the version of Sephiroth from Crisis Core as I found him boring and again that’s another opinion of mine.

Sephiroth having a self-righteous ego and feeling abandoned after all he never new his mother and felt a loss for not having parents to help him grow up like the children around him, most likely he never matured and so Sephiroth could be considered child like in my opinion which is when he needed a hug badly.

Learning the truth would have tipped him over the edge and he probability would have taken his own life if he was fully human. His selfesteem would have kept him going after all he feels special and important which leads him to crave power and the power to control people, the power over people is something he inherits from his mother.

The question is, is Sepiroth a puppet or is he the puppet master, does he control Jenova or does Jenova control him? From my opinion Sephiroth ego was overflowing to the point that Jenova was overwhelmed and was used to bring him back to life

From what I’ve learned Sephiroth gets his wing from having an oedipus complex and why they give Cloud a wing in Kingdom Hearts is because it looks good or he will become the next Sephiroth.

Maybe if he had a girlfriend he would have grown up properly.

Sephiroth is not even immature, so he can't be declared childish and immature. He was Quit making up baseless assumptions. Kefka was even more insane than him and he wasn't mature at all if we consider that he had a family once. He had some weird moments, but you can't came to the conclusion that he was desperate even if he gave you that impression during the scene that he was asked for his mother's and father's name.
Sephiroth never had a massive ego(I agree that he was obviously arrogant) and he was never a desperate adult seeking for hugs, he never appeared like a disparate adult. He was somewhat cold and distant before his mental breakdown, but he never beg for affection and love. The only possible thing which Sephiroth cared was his legendary rank as a SOLDIER of 1st mighty rank and accomplishing Shinra's goals that he was accomplishing every time.
That alone explains why Sephiroth distant himself from others, because he was acknowledging that he is something special and unique. I don't see how he thought himself superior than other SOLDIERS, I spotted that he adopted his superiority complex after went bananas.
Regardless, Sephiroth was always lonely, mature, ruthless, cold, highly intelligent, eccentric, mysterious and distant even after jumping on crazy train. His personality wasn't erased completely post-insanity, some of the characteristics left hidden and unaffected.

Sephiroth is neither a monster nor an evil. Hatred and anger pushed him to do undesirable actions and trust no one. For me, Sephiroth was just misunderstood.
