Heh, my favorites are

---

I hope they don't dumb it down either. I hope they stretch the PG-13 rating.

He better not dumb it down for younger audiences either. That's what I'm afraid might happen. I loved the last book because it was violent and aimed more toward a mature audience. Mrs. Weasley's little outburst on Bellatrix was pretty funny, and if they cut that and similar scenes out of the films, I will not be a happy cookie. ):

Yes, I know. But I agree, he better damn well make it as accurate as possible, because it's a great book and explains a lot.

I have good hopes for this movie. :)

Apparently the seventh book is going to be split into two films, which I'm hoping will give him enough time to make them as accurate and detailed as possible. The final battle better be flawless. It was so great. My hopes are rising, something I shouldn't let happen, but it's kinda too late at this point. ):

Finished the seventh book Sunday. Man, if Yates can turn the series around and make the movie accurate with the book, it's going to be EPIC.

You can tell she wanted the happy ending that left closure and what not. Unfortunately the fact that the series was getting darker and darker with each book made the whole "happily ever after" a cop out. The build up is what made the epilogue so terrible, but the build up was awesome and couldn't be changed. You would think someone involved in the editing process would have pointed out the gross inappropriateness in the complete change of tone and atmosphere that occurs for no reason.

Epilogue of the final book was absolutely atrocious. She didn't do the series, or the characters, justice. I mean I'm sorry, we were left without so much info really, who else died in the Battle of Hogwarts? Are we truly to believe it was only a handful? There were so many characters we had gotten used, secondary characters of course but still, they were a part of the world and it seemed that JK completely dismissed them tbh. Very disappointing.

I think a great epilogue would've been like a year anniversary of the battle or something, where we get an idea of who survived it. Like has been said, the epilogue just seemed really rushed, like she almost didn't care how it turned out.

Meh, the epilogue was, in my opinion, a waste of her time and of a small fraction of the world's paper supply. It seemed like a rushed attempt to simply have something there by title to satisfy the fans. However, being rushed and containing so many crammed characters, the potential quality was completely drained, and I believe she failed to give it a real purpose because of this. It doesn't seem like she put much effort into writing it anyway, and I could honestly say it was a disappointment to me, as I was looking forward to it as I read the seventh book.

I honestly didn't like the epilogue at all. I would've much preferred it if it hadn't been included. Also, Harry, Ginny, Ron, and Hermione can sure come up with really crappy names for their kids, imo. :L

Exactly, Amberlynn, I agree with what you said there at the end. While I definitely feel that the series did eventually improve towards the end in the seventh book, and in the latter end of the sixth book, I think that if she had extended some of the events over the course of the fifth and sixth book it would have reduced this feeling of it all being rushed, and would have given some content to what I feel were two more or less lost books in the series.

When I look at the epilogue, I feel a little disappointed by it. She explained that she didn't want to bring in too many new names, but making it short and clumping it all together destroys it and makes it feel like a pile of names and words being dumped on us anyways. There was no reason should couldn't have extended it just a little bit more. Epic ending or not, making the epilogue feel forced takes away from it more than having a slightly longer post-conclusion bit would have.
