quote IcarusAbidesThat's the exact same thing I'm doing!I'm really excited to read it and it should be here tomorrow with any luck but I'm determined to finish the book I'm currently reading because I know if I start in on a Sanderson book then I'm just going to abandon everything else

quote qrtr circle punchOh man, I seriously can't wait to sink my teeth into that!I've just started on Words of Radiance by Brandon Sanderson which is the second instalment in his Stormlight Archive series. I was sceptical at first that I wouldn't like it as much as the Way of Kings as this book would be focusing mostly on a character that I didn't much care for last time around but it's been a pleasant read so far.
quote AuroraI finished White Bones last night. It was excellent for the most part, although the ending seemed a bit anti-climatic. You never even find out who the man behind the killings was.quote AuroraRight, I've now bought the first book in the series — White Bones — so I'm reading that. I haven't gotten that far in, but so far I like the writing style and plot direction.Just bought Broken Angels by Graham Masterton, after enjoying the sample.
After buying it, I realised there's an earlier book with the same main characters… I'm now pondering buying that so I don't miss out on character development.
quote Mouldy CheeseBe really interested to hear your thoughts on that one whenever you get around to it, I'm still only a few chapters into the second book but I do plan to go back to it very soon - well once I've wrapped up The Black Prism anywayOn my "to read" list:
- Prince of Thorns (Mark Lawrence
quote IcarusAbidesI wonder what could possibly give you that impression, hahaWheel of Time is something I've always wanted to get in to but so far I've managed to make it about 3 or 4 chapters in to The Eye of the World - that said it was about 4 years back so I should no doubt try again at some point so let me know how you get on with it cos I get the feeling that if you like it then I might for some reason
quote Mouldy CheeseI walked into a book shop and got enticed by a book that I'd heard absolutely nothing about, how does this keep happening
Seriously, stop stealing all my thoughts :<
I thought the exact same thing at the start of Black Prism, although it ends up being completely different. Weeks does such good dialogue, but it felt the story was a bit lacking in substance. Some very neat twists but an overall "meh" from me. I am curious to read the Blinding Knife, although some events at the end of the first book which I think are supposed to be more subtle are blindingly obvious and apparently that makes up a lot of the next book. For when you finish the first book:
I am currently reading The Eye of the World (book #1 in the Wheel of Time) and finding it so hard to get into. So much prose! I'm 20% through the book and they're just leaving home for the first time.
