quote Nintendo PRIt's not much, but I found this screenshot from the trailer that shows a bit of the prologue. Take it for what you will, judging from the previous games and their prologues, this is only the tip of the iceberg. What begins as a simple journey to rescue a lost friend turns into a dramatic quest to save the land from catastrophe as players are drawn into a world full of magical energy.
quoteThe trailer also says that "The Golden Sun was supposed to bring life back to the world, but something went wrong..." So what exactly can we attest from this? Well, we can assume the Golden Sun's rising, along with the new alchemical age did not bode as well for Weyard, much to the dismay of Isaac and his friends. The heavens stormed. The lands quaked. The seas raged. Across the land, people prepared for the end of the world. The tale spread that this great calamity was caused by some unknown soul who had released a forbidden power upon the world.
quoteWhat about the battles? How will they be conducted this time around? At the end of Golden Sun: The Lost Age, Isaac & Co succeeded in bringing the world-healing power of the Golden Sun back to the world of Weyard. In the years since, the immense power of the Golden Sun has changed nearly everything. Continents have shifted. New countries have emerged, along with new species of monsters. However, the world is far from peaceful. Now imperiled by a new threat, Psynergy Vortexes, which suck the elemental Psynergy from both the land and power-wielding Adepts alike, are spreading across the world. The new generation of heroes are drawn into the mystery behind the vortexes, as they cross a chaotic world that is quickly succumbing to a great evil.
quote Nintendo Power MagazineI also looked at the release date schedule on Gamestop. I know it is most likely not the actual release date, but it said June 1st, so hopefully it is near that time period.Little is known about the game's story, mechanics, or even its title, but all should be revealed in the months to come, as Nintendo has affirmed that Golden Sun DS is on track for a 2010 release.
quote http://www.gamingunion.net/news/previewing-golden-sun-ds--130.htmlNothing we didn't already know, but here are some of the images for archiving.Golden Sun DS was announced at today’s E3 2009, and Gaming Union was able to play a demo of the game on the show floor. The game could be controlled either by the stylus using the touch screen, or the directional pad for those Golden Sun players who want to play the game as if it was a Game Boy Advance game. After getting used to the controls and moving over a bridge, the demo switched to a pre-made video that showed off snippets of Golden Sun DS’s gameplay.
Golden Sun DS, Nintendo DS, Nintendo The battle engine looks to be similar to the Game Boy Advance games, using the behind-the-character point of view. However, the graphics are now done in true 3D instead of faux-3D that the previous two games used. The four elemental Djinn (Fire, Water, Earth, and Wind) are confirmed, as well as the summons Ramses and Atalanta. The story will take place after the events of Golden Sun: The Lost Age and will follow the story of the descendants of the heroes from the previous two games.
For fans of the first two games, Golden Sun DS feels like a game right up their ally. For people who aren’t fans, they will have to wait till later this year when Nintendo is likely to release more information about the game.
