should i buy a doom weapon or buy something else. any suggestions

I suggest you buy one, purify it, maybe get some upgrades if your level is high enough to make use of them, and just use that. There aren't enough light element enemies in the game to make a powerful darkness weapon anywhere near as useful than a powerful light weapon at the moment.
