First off, I think he means Late first quarter of this year,
Second, It's not coming out in the end of January, Probably it'll be out in the end of summer.

There is Monster Hunter Tri coming out for the Wii in Summer 09.

There is also Monster Hunter Unite foe PSP com out in late Q1.
