oh yeah i forgot the game has a lot of scratches so how can i get it finished?(the game)

i am pretty close t beating the game but i cant because the cut scene when mortimer gives you the last trophy the game suddenly goes very very very slow after he says " and in outer space too!" so is this because of the game or my ps2?
