Welcome to the Year 3000. A world that has experienced the breath of change.
Scientists messed with human DNA and half human, half animal mutations have sprung up across the globe. A whisper of a legend circles the globe, the Legend of The Sight. The rhyme is spoken everywhere, from the gutters of the poor to the upper echelons of the rich. It is passed along, the tale of the Religion that unites every living person.

As a creature is whelped with a coat that is white,
And a human child stolen to suckle the Sight,
From a place where injustice was secretly done,
Then the Marked One is here and a Legend bgun.
When Wolfbane is dreamt of with terror and dread,
And untamed are tamed, prepare for the dead.
For the Shape Changer's pact with the birds will come true,
When the blood of the bold blends with man in the dew.
As the Searchers are tempted; who hunger and prowl,
Down the pathways of the dead by the summoning howl.

Then the third of the powers will be fleshed on the bone,
As the Searchers tempt nature to prey on its own.
With blood on the altar the Vision shall come,
When the eye of the moon is as round as the sun.
In the Citadel raised by the lords of before,
The stone twins await; Both the power and law.
The past and the present will finally show,
To the wounded; the secret the creatures must know.
And all shall be witness to what will be,
In the mind of the master; then who shall be free?

And only a pack both loving and true,
May conquer the evil; so ancient so new.
As they fight to uncover what secrets they share,
And behold in their journey how painful is care.
Their faith shall be tried by the makers of life,
Beware the Betrayer; whose meaning is Strife.
For who shall divine in the dead of the night,
The lies from the truth; the darkness from light?
Like the cry of a scavenger torn through the air,
A courage is needed; As deep as despair.

Your goal is simple: Find the White One. Before Wolfbane takes over.

I considered whether or not to stay in the cave. The Balkar would be hunting me, as they always did. But I had travelled many miles since they had pursued me the previous night, and as always, I was careful not to leave any trail. If I stayed, I may be putting the other inhabitants of the cave at risk- currently Izumi and Jade. But I would be safer here, and if they did find me, at least I wouldn't be alone. So what if they killed the other? These people meant nothing to me. No-one did.
I stared at Izuki for a moment. She seemed as though she was meditating. I had heard that all creatures could do it, but I had never understood it myself. Why would you want to blank out the rest of the world, when there is so much danger out there?
Sighing, I retreated to a corner of the cave and rested my back against the wall, trying my hardest to get some sleep. I needed it badly.

Whilst everyone parted ways, whether in or out of the cave, I remained next to the fire, giving much needed heat to my body. I took a deep breath and began nightly meditation, something I do before going to bed. And although I wasn't nearly tired enough for sleep, I might as well get it out of the way.

Sighing, I shut my eyes and crossed my legs. In moments, I was focused on my mom and dad; the real ones. I had always been able to contact their spirits, even if I can't directly talk to them, or see them. My parents seem to be flies on the wall whenever I would have troubles, or something. They always knew what I should do, even if I told them nothing.

I opened my eyes again, and glanced at Gudo. He was staring at my strangely. I scrunched my nose and looked back at the fire. The embers were finally dying down, and the cave was becoming darker. I heaved another sigh and stood up. Peering around the cave, I found a free spot to sleep in the back corner. I nodded to myself and swiftly moved over to the large heap of leaves.

"Well, Izumi found me after I caught a Herla, and I allowed her to share my meal, for she was very hungry."
I indicated Jade to Gudo.
"That's Jade, we captured her thinking she was a member of the Balkar scum. We're all in here because of the strom earlier."
He nodded, examining the crane girl.
"Those injuries are from Blakar scouts, aren't they?"
He hesitated, then nodded. I nodded too.
"Though so. Had some like that a while back, when they took me for 'examination'."
"Examination?"
I remained silent, biting my lip as more memories washed over me. Deciding swiftly, I stood.
"I'm going out, I need to fill the water skins."
I left the cave quickly, leaving the others behind.

I travlelled through the forest swiftly, alert for any danger. I heard a cry of pain nearby, and another of frustration. I drew my swords, and parted the screen of bushes. A girl sat, caught in a fox trap. I sheathed my swords, and sat down beside her.
"Are you alright?!"

The antispetic stung at first as it sunk into the wounds, but I knew it would help my recovery. I could feel the tension in the room, and the anger directed towards me by each of it's inhabitants. I glanced at the crane, who had yet to tell me her name. For the first time, I saw that wings were starting to sprout out of her back, making it glaringly obvious that she was half animal. Whilst I could cover up my tiger characteristics- even the tail could be tucked away- you could not hide wings when they were fully grown. She would never be able to walk down the street again.
"I thank you for your kindness, Hoshiko. You have been very genarous, considering how rude I have been since entering your cave. I would like to apologise for how I have acted towards you and your guests. Although I must ask, how do a crane, a cougar and a wolf come to be sitting in a cave together drinking wine?"

"I am Hoshiko."
I raised my silver eys, which were still drunk with anger.
"And this is my cave."
The Tiger man looked around the cave, clearly unimpressed. I uncoiled from the floor, and stood at my full height. I examined him with disdain. He was badly injured, but impressively muscular. A good fighter by the looks of him.
"I have something I can fix your wounds with, Gudo."
The Tiger hesitated, then nodded. I padded lightly over to the chest I kept in the corner of my sleeping space, and pulled out a medical kit, with home made salves and poultices.
I smeared his wounds with antiseptic and soothing agents to calm the damaged flesh, before binding his wounds with strong linen.
"In a few days those should be healed. Go easy on them until then."
I surveyed him calmly as he examined his wounds, trying to anticipate his next move.

I looked up at Gudo. "I'm Izumi," I said very quietly. I stood up from my spot on the ground and brushed my hair back with my fingers. Sighing, I walked over to the fire and lifted my hands to receive its heat. Silence filled the cave, and I heard the tiger mumble something to himself. Neither Hoskiko nor Jade bothered to tell Gudo their names, so the silence was very creepy and eerie. Even though I was kneeling in front of the fire, my teeth began to chatter. I really wished I had something else to wear besides the skirt I ran away in. It would make me feel a lot comfortable. Then again, the only thing I have to give myself warmth was a sweater, but that really doesn't help my legs, does it? I sigh once again, and plant my butt on the ground. I shake my head slightly and close my eyes. I can't believe my life has come to this.

OOC: Soz that i haven't posted in ages!

After my meal which would be my last for the next 2 weeks, I walked through the cold forest looking at the sun go down, I sighed and and carried on walking, I closed my eyes and carried on walked, I felt the wind through my hair and past my soft cat ears, suddenly CRACK!
I felt a sudden pain rush through my leg, I looked down to see a fox trap closed around my foot, I fell to the floor in pain, I screamed loudly and began to cry
"Agh, who *bleep* put this here!" I screamed looking around to see the culprit, but there was no one, just the sound of the wind, I wiped back my tears and looked at my bloody foot, I tried so hard to keep back the rest of my tears, like my master used to teach me
"Never let emotions get the better of you, even love"
Those words echoed through my mind and I nodded glumly, my only choices were to chew off my own foot or to stay there and die, I wanted neither, I just sat there thinking how i could get out of the trap without dying or losing a foot, I really couldn't hold back the tears then.

I watched as the cougar devour the meat, taking huge bites. Eventually, she sat down alongside the crane, who had rejected the meat. They were talking quietly between themselves. I could see mixed emotions in the eyes of the cougar- there was anger, but also fear, contorted into one. The crane and the wolf also seemed angry. I guessed I wasn't the most popular person in the room at the moment. It seemed they all disliked me already, which didn't seem very fair. What had I done wrong? After finishing off my share of the deer, I looked around the cave, searching for something to occupy my attention. I ended up studying the physical features of the other 3 properly for the first time. The wolf had very pale skin, and was around the same size as me, with long, dark hair. The crane was Asian, and had a seemingly fragile body. Finally, there was the cougar- small, and with brown hair, and for some reason wearing a skirt. She was the most attractive of the 3, if I do say so myself, not that I care about things like that. I did not like women. It was not that I was a homosexual- I was not in the slightest bit interested in that sort of thing either. But my dis attachment from the human race had meant I had no real attraction to females. I remembered the one time I had tried sex before, and it had no great appeal to me, and certainly no motivation to do it again. Finally, I spoke up again.
"So, I've told you all my name- it's only right that you tell me yours"

I bit my lip and shook my head. "I'm not trying to avoid you, really I'm not. It's just everyone seems like their lives are better than mine. It's horrible knowing that if something happened to me, no one would care." I sighed as a tear fell on my cheek. "My own parents think I'm a monster. My foster parents anyway." I wiped my nose and stared at the deer being shredded to pieces. "Who knows what happened to my real parents."

I rubbed the back of my neck and looked up at Gudo. That smug looked plastered on his face gnawed at my insides, and all I wanted to do was rip off his mouth and punch him in the nose. But I couldn't do that. If I lunged evem one muscle at him, I bet he'd destroy me in a second.

Bitter Sweet

Ooc: Thanks for clearing that up Lei. ^^;

I didn't bother to eat that meat. I don't eat meat, like it's been said before. I turned my back on the idiot.
Hoshiko hesitated before joining in on the meal. She was still very angry. I sighed, when she gave in and began to eat as well. Was I the only one here who didn't like meat besides fish? Obviously.
"I don't think he should've come here. As soon as Hoshiko is finished, she'll probably tear him to pieces." I whispered to Izumi, who nodded in agreement.
I looked at everyone. Izumi looked troubled, the guy looked amused, and Hoshiko looked angry, yet she was still eating.
"Izumi, is something wrong? You seem, upset." I asked, noticing her face showing a mixed amount of emotions.
"I'm fine." she replied, not looked at me.
"Doesn't seem like it. Plus, you're avoiding me." I pointed out.
