Anyone know how to change the AV HDMI input? When I first got it, I hooked it up to a regular AV and it worked fine but than I switched to a HDTV and the input was not found so I kept the AV connected, connected the HDMI cable and went to switch it from AV to HDMI with both connected.

Is there a way to just have one connected and it automatically find the connection? Lets say if I disconnect it from my HDTV and connect it to a TV with AV?

Grandma Gamer

I have asked this question multiple times but I hope to get a fresh mind on it each time I try. I have an old CRT TV and there are tens of thousands of gamers happy to get the old tv they don't have to share and can put it wherever they want but about half way through the ps3 games, it seemed to be mandatory that you have a hi-def tv. On Doom3 and other games, I have to go running to the computer to ask what instructions say because I can't read it anymore. I've talk to many people. It seems, like stereo vs mono, tv shows, games, but oddly not DVD's there are 2 signals, my tv won't pick up the dual signal the games send. Is there any switch on the ps3, some gadget, SOMETHING that will let me see clearly. Can we lobby the gaming industry? Most old TV's have a mono and stereo setting; why can't they do something like that for games? So again, any help? Any buttons to push to make the ps3 talk to the old crt tv? A cheap and simple gadget? I have 3 used games I can't even start because I can't read the tutorial levels.

Thank you sooo much!!! My 6 year old and his best buddy were going to be soo upset if I couldn't switch it back to AV. I let them play Minecraft on my HDTV so they could play two player and went to put it back in his room and had to switch it back to AV. Well needless to say I couldn't figure it out and I had no clue about holding down the power button on the system itself. It worked great and saved me from pissed off little boys!!!!

Irritated

I recently moved and changed TV's that my ps3 is hooked into. I lost the AV cables but still have the HDMI's. I have tried using the one button method but still can not get anything to display. It appears as though my TV knows that there is a input but will not display anything. Help?

Turn off your PS3. Now press and HOLD the 'On' button on the PS3 itself (not on the controller). It will beep and reset the connection type. I believe it will use HDMI if available, if not then it'll switch to AV.

I love u man
