Ok I'm getting an animation program because my dad got rid of Image ready. I'd like to know which one you would suggest for me to get.

Then just get Flash, if you're only gonna make animated gifs it's not that hard to do. I figured it out very easily on flash 5.

swish I believe is only like 10 megabytes while flash mx is a little over a hundred... maybe you can spare a couple mp3's...

Swish has various transition effects that you'll spend hours doing using Flash. So, I suggest you keep it. You can export the Swish movie you made into a .swf file, then import it into Flash. Then, by using Flash, you can export it as a gif.

Well, keep your swish. It can export the files. Flash does not have little effects like that you have to make them yourselves.

If yu were looking for tutorials under the help menu the second options is swish tutorials.
The only thing i can find on saving to a gif would be getting any version of flash and exporting it there. From there you can save it as gif i am positive.
