Just listened to it now, and I like it. I think it'll really grow on me even more after a few more listens as well.
The video was cool too.

Yeah, I was following the whole internet presence fiasco too. Looks like they were just clearing space and garnering attention to release the new song. Cool. I don't love the song yet, and I was kind of hoping the next album would be their White Album, in which they really stretch out and try a lot of different things (10 minute songs, songs that focus on individual members, etc), but if the rest of the album is going in the direction of Burn the Witch with a heavy focus on orchestration, I'm still definitely down for it.

Older people watching the video might be reminded, of style, of Camberwick Green does the Wicker Man.
Heard the news of the new single on the radio at work, was hoping they'd play it but apparently not. Sorta hinted at it when they deleted their web presence yesterday. Liking it.

Shadow of Death
Burn the Witch sure does sound like a Radiohead track. It's good stuff. Video is a nice touch. Not exactly sure why they went 4:3 and with old time-y film distortions along with. I guess they're just trying to further conjure up the past.
Regardless. Good track, I'll be listening to it often enough in the next few days.

Not bad but I don't think Thom Yorke's vocal style matches it. Falsetto doesn't work for it. That said Sam Smith's vocals don't match either. Every song he sings sounds like he's crying.

I don't know anything or really care about Spectre, but it's still a shame that didn't make it to the soundtrack. A reminder of how Jonny Greenwood is one of the best film composers working today.
I'm quite disappointed it was rejected from the score. I don't mind Sam Smith's theme, and I'm not saying I favour one over the other, but I don't think it should be excluded. It would have been a nice credits theme at the least.
I guess I could just listen to it during the Quantum intro, just have the film on mute so I don't have to hear that absurdly awful duet between Alicia Keys and Jack White.
