Appearances
  • The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker
  • The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap
  • The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords/Four Swords Adventure
  • Phantom Hourglass

We were first introduced to this incarnation of Link back on the Gamecube, in the underrated Wind Waker. Toon Link (or cel-shaded Link as he's more commonly known) has become a common face in the Zelda series, only recently being usurped by his Twilight Princess counterpart as the most recent design of Link in the series.

In Brawl, it appears his moveset is much the same Young Link's was in Melee. He is faster than his older, realistic self, but presumably weaker and his attacks don't have the same novelty to them (his Boomerang doesn't draw enemies in, for example).

So what's your opinion on the newly-introduced Brawler? I personally believe they've missed the mark by making him a clone, but I'm still glad they included him at all; He has always been my favorite incarnation.

The dair is perfect for bomb spikes too. Just make sure you hit with the bomb at the right angle.

Yeah, KO ability screws up a little, but still, I've been working on it, and he's pretty good, I like him a lot more the reg. Link, since he's faster.

After doing a bit of playing, I've just noticed, I believe it's his d-air, then forward or backward-air he completely rapes anyone with over 75%. Has anyone else noticed this?
    Yes, yes indeed.

It's an insane tactic to use when playing as Toon Link. 90 percent of the time it slaughters most opponents anyway.
I love playing as him. It's just if his KO Ability was better, he would probably be the best character in the game.

Pretty much epic win. Youtube, Linkaggedon. Best combo video I've seen in a long time. Anyways, I can only guess that Tl's works well too, and with his fair being faster and... well, better, I would imagine they could chain at least a little.

Does Toon Link utilize the Zair as much as Link does? Seems like fair to zair repeat could work, although I haven't tried it. Just thinking about my knowledge of Link.

I actually use that combo a lot too, but I don't play on WiFi too often.

Yaw...it also varies from character to character...

But I never use that "combo" because usually it'll get dodged and/or countered....

I use Bomb to Dair,to Fair/Uair/Bair depending on how the opponent gets hit. :I
