I dutifully looked at all the past pages, to find a topic that suited what I wanted to say. And I couldn't. So here goes.

Melee was obviously an amazing game. However, it wasn't perfect. Obviously they're adding in loads of stuff, and there are threads already out there for what we want to see in Brawl. But my question is - is there anything you'd change?

For me, it's the character class problems. Heavy-weights suck. Yes, it's possible to play them well, and even to beat a light weight. But in my opinion, you're always doing so with the odds against you (and the tier system agrees.) And that really weakens the roster, as if you intend to play seriously, you're limited to just a few choices, really. I would love to see the roster tightened up.

How me and my friends do it is to play using handicaps. Heavy weight chars have a +1 or +2 advantage to make them legit choices that keep par. But this is hard to balance perfectly, and can't be used for 1 player mode and so on. And wouldn't be allowed in Tourneys.

So what I would change is: give Stronger characters a power boost. And tighten up other weak characters (eg, Yoshi.) A purely balanced tier system is impossible, but they can surely get it quite a bit tighter than Melees.

How about you guys?

The only things I would change would be give melee a storyline and add a shitload of characters. Like Sora and Axel.

I would change Dk's and Peach's special moves!

DK's Headbutt would be replace with his coconut shotgun you can't charge it, it just fires out a quick coconut. Also DK is knocked slighly back by the force so it's a bit risky to use when your backed on an edge.

I would change Peach's Toad and Bomber move. The Toad move would mainly be the same but I would replace Toad with a Star, much like the invincible star with the eyes (this being so Toad could be a playable character) and instead of spores flying out it would be mini-stars.

A bomber would be replaced with a Star Frisbee: Pretty straight forward in that she lobs a star, just like a frisbee and you can alter it's direction and all that jazz!

I'd change some of the character's moves, make them longer, faster, ect.

For eg. Yoshi's eggroll could be stopped by A hitting it. WTF!? But Jiggy cannot be hit out of her Rolling? Feh. Yoshi needs to be buffed up for eggroll.

I'd also change the Bob Omb. I mean, like make it longer lasting, or stationary, walking in little circles. Sometimes I will be in the air, A smashing someone, then being A smashed myself to the ground, to have a random bomb omb come marching into my face.

I want them to add a bit more variety in modes. Not like, online. Just, an option that's in a lot of beat 'em ups. Let players choose 3 characters. For example:

Player 1
Mario, Sonic, and Peach
Player 2
Bowser, Wario, and Lucario

They play, and Mario beats Bowser. Player 2 respawns as Wario, Mario keeps his current damage %. Wario beats him, and Player 1 respawns as Sonic. Wario beats him too, and Player 1 respawns as Peach and defeats Wario. Player 2 respawns as Lucario and defeats Peach, and is the winner.

So yeah, that option is long overdue for Smash. Also, be able to continually play matches in a row - going back to menu screen and keep track of games won, not just kills.

Well if they made him a bit more unique I wouldn't mind, plus I just saw that video of that guy hinting it.

I agree completely with the point about stationary stages, far too little going on to keep things interesting. Although what I would propose for Brawl is an option to toggle off/on certain in-stage obstacles.

SSBB_Crazy, the odds are against you man, Luigi has been hinted at to death. If you're wanting him to stay out you're more than likely to be out of luck.

I would change all of the stages, I hated most of them, I really hated Hyrule stage and Peach's Castle stage.

I could see Luigi getting the boot, he has been pretty annoying, plus I hated him in SSBM anyway.
