Forced Listening Thread |
|
Seen this in the music forum so why not here?
For those that don't know, you basically listening to the song posted by the previous member and comment on it, and then post your own song. At least I think that's how it works.... Anyway, I'll go first: ------------------- The handling of a heart is a very delicate art cos it's paper thin, run irrelevant thought that started out as a spark could be a poisonous dart that leaves a permanent mark that's ice cold in the day and burns in the dark - Jay Electronica

re: Forced Listening Thread |
quote Jecht44Well considering it's a "forced" listening thread, other types of music is obviously more appropriate. I doubt anyone in a hip hop forum would feel "forced" into listening to hip hop songs which they do anyway. I also doubt that everyone in here is a strictly closed-minded hip hop head that can't appreciate any other forms of music. ------------------- The handling of a heart is a very delicate art cos it's paper thin, run irrelevant thought that started out as a spark could be a poisonous dart that leaves a permanent mark that's ice cold in the day and burns in the dark - Jay Electronica

But if people wanted to listen to other types of music, wouldn't they go to the forced listening thread in the music forum instead? What Jecht said makes sense.

Yeah Clay, should be strictly Hip Hop songs here, in "Open Mic"
If not, it's an exact copy of the one in the Music forum. Amiright? quote The HazardThe beat is dope, has a nice old school feel to it. Also like Lupe's verses. His first Verse more so than the rest. The chorus is pretty annoying though, not going to lie. Besides that, solid song. Never heard it before either, this his new single or..?? Well, anywho... ------------------- ![]() .: Don't F%^k With My Mind, I'm Strapped :.

quote Fourth DimensionWell the idea was to see what other types of music the hip hop heads in this forum listen to and of course you can post hip hop songs but why exclude other types of music? ------------------- The handling of a heart is a very delicate art cos it's paper thin, run irrelevant thought that started out as a spark could be a poisonous dart that leaves a permanent mark that's ice cold in the day and burns in the dark - Jay Electronica

Well if you use all types of music there is no need for this thread at all, since it's an exact replica of one in the music forum.

The main difference being that this thread will be used by members of Open Mic; whose musical tastes I am most interested in hearing. Are you seriously saying all you listen to is hip hop?

Lupe Fiasco:
The beat had a funky tint, the chipmunk faux scratched chorus was pretty annoying and Lupe's just Lupe, interesting in small doses. Virtuoso: The beat sounds Stoupish, and the lyrics sounded Pazish to some extent, like a gruff canibus, smack talk, wasn't terrible just not something I'd listen to by choice. That Trance Track: Sounds like a lot of trance tracks but i can appreciate the melodic drop circa 59, spine tinglins. Not really my genre so no disrespect. Grip Grand: Grip must be "down with the band called diggin' in the crates": props. However more chipmunk malarky, the hook is harmonic, twista style spittings, interesting lyrics, appendixes, this song is alllright by me. Nas: This was produced by some bloke named DJ Premier, and this geezer named Nas is spitting Cormega's memories as if they're his own... possibly. I kid of course, pretty dope.

Huge understatement there Lupin, calling Memory Lane "Pretty Dope" - Maybe you were drugged up on a monday night? Oh shit you posted on saturday.
"What the *bleep* is going on!?" That is a question I wouldn't mind you answering - What was that track all about. Ok; Camu Tao Tero Smith: Oxycontin (Is that even right!?) Not to my taste, it seemed to have a somewhat indie musical twist, all seemed a bit depressing. A slightly dark sound although, I won't diss this song as I don't know the meaning, who the cat singing is or who was on the production. Overall it wasn't too bad. ------------------- ![]()
