If you can get hold of some fret glue you could have a go at glueing the edges down yourself, though you'd have to be careful to only use tiny amounts of glue and you'd need a clamp.

I'm quite a novice at acoustic guitar so I'm sure this question will require not much effort.
Specifically what is "hammer on" and how do I do such technique.

I've heard it's just playing a note hard and slapping your finger on the same fret or chord.

Yeah, I'm getting it now. But is the reason why I'm not noticing the sounds of the note being hammered on because I'm not picking the chord hard enough or because I have to hammer the fret sooner?

This statement seems so innocently inappropriate to me.

Ive been learning to play the bass for a year, its not really a year solid playing. Anyways normally I rest my thumb on the pick up and pluck the strings with the tips of my two fore-fingers, (occasionally third if I think about it) kind of like making alternating a rabbit ear impression (so fingers coiling). I've just recently tried paddling the strings, so with instead of the tip, go about another 2-3mm down, and instead of a pluck, as your finger goes over the string it pulls pass it to land kinda on a mtued note on the string above/below (eg Hits the A string, land on the E).

This ive found to make me quicker, as the fingers aren't moving as far, does anyone have any tips on finger style for bass. Main songs Im learning to play are radiohead, incubus and random tracks from films (ie jungle boogie)some pink floyd etc. So yeah any advice?
