I feel he has done so much and i love the lad saves our bacon week in week out

So it is First plus second and the second goes into a play off. It is fair to be honest we have a small league, no relagation and no cup

It's *bleep*ed really, but, as much as it pains me to say it, we need to concentrate on getting our own backyard fixed first before we try and fix Asia. Roar should easily beat any qualifying team they come up against (I think they play a Thai team this time around). Just disappointed that Perth got their hopes up for something that has been snatched from them.

Hyperbolic, perhaps, but it doesn't change the crux of my stance. As for an extra interview to play for the Socceroos, I'm pretty sure that would violate quite a few Constitutional laws, unless you were bringing in the interview for ALL potential Socceroos, regardless of whether they've lived here for 5 year or 50 years.

My opinion on the matter is well noted, and as such I don't think it's necessary for me to continue this topic. On to other more pressing matters, such as the AFC's continued vendetta against Australian football

I think East Asian and SE Asian nations were happy to have us onboard (Japan, Korea, Thailand, Indonesia and to a lesser extent China etc) as they were of the opinion that another strong side in the region would also improve them, and I like to think that we have proved a valuable commodity in the region. We're a 'European like' team, and by playing us, these nations get to get a feel for a 'European type' opposition on a more regular basis than before (throughout all the age groups) and thus, makes them more comfortable when they play said European nations at the World Cup. Let's not forget we've had some great tussles with the likes of South Korea and Japan in recent years, and yet we (governing body as well as the fans) still maintain an excellent relationship and continue to have a healthy respect for each other. So yeah, I think they were keen to have us on board, and when they were all voting, each member nation got 1 vote, and so the sheer number of countries, particularly in SE Asia, got us over the line in that regard.

HOWEVER, from what I understand, the ACL is run by a different committee, and as such is made up of the men and women who have the deepest pockets, or who are willing to accept the most cash in return for favourable outcomes. Thus, when it comes to the ACL, the Gulf countries line their pockets and in return they screw us over even further (no idea why these gulf countries have a vendetta against us in the first place, but they appear to have one giant chip on their shoulder).

So yeah, the Socceroos have flourished because they can't be screwed over by a select committee with vested interests in the Middle East, whilst our clubs have struggled under the scrutiny to the nth degree to try and squeeze them out without kicking us out.

It's not just the Middle East either, gas money from Uzbekistan has obviously had an impact as they've now got 4 places in the ACL! Ridiculous.
