	All the talk during the week was how the talls would dominate. Unfortunately that didn't happen and the Pies won the battle at ground level comfortably. Guys like Swan, Pendlebury and Beams were just too good in tight, and the team pressure they applied forced us to fumble and turn the ball over a lot more than usual. I'm looking forward to next year though. Another year into the likes of Shuey, Gaff and Darling. Selwood, Masten and Mackenzie all took big steps forward this year. Bring back Waters, Nicoski and LeCras. Things are looking up. -------------------

	Don't know how all four Eagles made it. I figured Cox and Waters would, maybe Glass, but I thought the NicNat nomination was a top 40 but miss the side for sure. They said they picked the side as if it were going to play a game, so I guess the idea with Cox up forward is to rotate him through the ruck from there rather than start him on the bench (pretty sure he was the leading goalkicker of all the rucks this year) but I'm still amazed that Pav (and Roo for that matter) both missed. Top two guys in the Coleman but we'll put Hawkins at full forward instead? Don't get me wrong, the Tomahawk had a great year, but a forward's job is to kick goals and both Pav and JRoo beat him in that respect this season. I would've thought Cox to start in ruck with Jacobs on the bench as relief. I reckon of the four NicNat is the best ruckmen at the actual ruck contests, but around the ground all three of them beat him. -------------------

	I didn't say that I agreed with all of their selections, I'm only saying what Kevin Bartlett (one of the guys involved in selecting the side) has been saying for the past few weeks. He keeps going on about how the team won't be picked on the absolute best 22 players in the competition but would be picked as if it were going to be a real game. Otherwise you'd probably end up with a forwardline of Hawkins, Pav, JRoo, Buddy etc... and no small guys around them for when the ball hits the deck. But yeah, four mids does kinda limit your rotations a bit. -------------------
