i've listened to a lot less metal, i'm more indie/hipster/*bleep* now. like most of the time i listen to metal it's like stoner metal or something.

I really don't listen to enough new music...The only time I hear it is on the radio.

Yeah I just got into the habit of looking for new music since it's a fun way to stay hip and happening.

Xodus: what kind of sound do Fear Factory have on their new album? Is it like Archetype or Transgression or like their old stuff? I should check out the new Nevermore as well.

Maybe Dino's using 8 strings on the FF album. @_@ Idk whether or not i should dl it, quite content with the FF stuff I already have.

for albums on my PC, i have my generation -the who ('65), The Rolling stones - rolling stones ('64) & Please please me - beatles ('63)

and individual songs i have songs that were written in the 1700's a bit of mozart & bach but recordings aren't from then

Modern music does indeed suck. I only really listen to modern music that offers something better or new, and there isn't much of it. For example, in the world of metal, I like new bands because they offer new variations of metal and almost always with a much heavier output of that seen in the early days. But of course, the quality of the songwriting itself is almost always down on that from the 80's. But you have to expect that.

That's pretty much why I dislike modern pop music. It offers absolutely nothing new to the table, and it only declines in quality as time goes on.

Maybe in metal, but there's plenty of good pop music and indie music being released.

Modern music is the same as it was in the 80s, 90s and 00s quality wise.
