She played 2 shows on the weekend in Perth and that's basically all I've heard about on the radio over the past few days. She apparently lip synced over 90% of her show, yet many fans were still happy to see her live.
What are your thoughts on this? I have no respect for any artist who doesn't do what they're famous for, especially if they charge $200+ for a concert. I go to concerts to see my favorite artists perform live, not to just see them walk around on stage. Yeah, a matette of mine went to the show. She was very far up the back, and all the screens were showing random things (like happy girly shit) and not Britney on the stage, to try and mask the fact she was lip syncing (and from what I hear, doing a very bad job).

People were saying that she spent a lot of time with her back to the stage, making it barely possible to tell if it were her. Perhaps she needed to switch to a double? I wouldn't put it past her...
What's her excuse? I hope it's not fatigue, because that's bullshit. Sure, she had a long flight to Australia and I'm sure she's done a crapload of shows this year, but it's still no excuse to mime/slack off. When I saw Nightwish last year they had come off 50-100 shows almost daily prior to my seeing them. Did they mime? No. They were as energetic as ever, and even managed to slip a few gulps of vodka while on stage. Now, I know that Britney does a lot of dancing, compared to a band who stand stationary most of the time, but she's a seasoned performer who should be able to give the audience a legitimate performance. If she can't, she'd better retire while she still has a morsel of dignity left. -------------------  | |

Miming in music certainly isn't rare in any type of genre. From the footage I did see it would have been hard for her not to mime given the dancing and moves she was doing.

I heard that she didn't interact with the audience much, and that's probably the worst thing IMO. I mean, what is the point of paying that much to she her live when all you're watching and hearing is her dancing around to a backing track?
