I thought I'd do the right thing and use the right thread
Geelong didn't do much in terms of player movement, losing young ruckman Shane Mumford to the Swans and gaining versatile defender Marcus Drum from Fremantle. Looking at Drum's size, at 190cm and 90kg, it's obvious the 22 year old is going to be a long term replacement for either Scarlett or Harley. The lad was 10th pick in the '05 draft, so there's obviously some talent there. Also helps he's from the area, so he might feel more comfortable in more familiar surroundings and can fulfill this potential. The loss of Shane Mumford is disappointing, but not devastating. He was one of the better young ruckman in the league, but he was third in line at best, behind Ottens and Blake. Besides, we have some excellent ruck talent in 21 year old Trent West, who has already played 7 games, and the 206cm, 20 year old Dawson Simpson. So we were overstocked in the ruck category as it is anyway, and Mumford leaving frees up valuable space under the salary cap. Looking at the results of trade week, the Cats were gunning for draft picks, snaring 4 of them to give us 17, 28 40, 42 and 56 come the draft. Hoping Thompson and the team can find another gem like Mathew Stokes, who was pick 61 in '05 and is now an integral part of the team. Overall, satisfied with our moves, and confident that the coaching panel recognise where we need to build for the future (backline). ------------------- ![]()

Whoops, posted in the wrong thread.
Man, I'm pissed off. Why would Vossy give up a young talent for a 'hot and cold' forward who will only hang around for around 3 years. I mean, it's not like we're going to pull off a St. Kilda with this new bunch of players. ------------------- ![]() PES 2010 » Digiport

because natman. while Fev may be "hot and cold". You have no idea how good henderson will be. He may be as good as brown/riewoldt/fev/buddy or he may only end up as good as bradshaw/roughead

Yeah, true. My guess is that he might turn into a Jarrad Waite-type player.
Oh, and it's about time Richmond delisted Jarrad Oakley-Nipples. ------------------- ![]() PES 2010 » Digiport

Bah, Drum has potential. He just didn't have the right coach to guide him.
Who did your team get anyway, eh? (I can't remember who you support ------------------- ![]()

He supports Carlton. They got McLean, Henderson, maybe someone else as well. Can't remember.
On second thoughts, maybe it could turn out okay having Brendan Fevola and his Chin at the Lions. He seemed alright at the interview today. ------------------- ![]() PES 2010 » Digiport

I was happy enough with West Coast's efforts in the draft. Seaby never got given a game, and Staker wasn't being played much in the last couple of seasons either, so neither of them are big losses. Picking up another young player in Dalziell is good, especially as he's a Perth boy as it likely means he'll stick around with the club.

Haha. I said we would be a powerhouse team in 2-5 years. I still have three years pending.

Haha. I'm ammused. I don't see them winning in the next five years. I do like them, and Hope they do a bit better next year though.
