Is it just me or is How To Train Your Dragon one of the best animated movies to come out recently? I saw it earlier in the year but just watched it again last night now that it's out on DVD, and with the second viewing I realized that I really really enjoyed it. The only other recent animated movie I've enjoyed as much was Toy Story 3 (with UP close behind it). I can't think of anything else since the days of Finding Nemo and The Incredibles that's been this good.

In fact, the three movies I mentioned (HtTYD, TS3 and UP) are quite possibly my three favorite 3D/animated movies since 2003.

In case you're wondering what my favorite is, it has to be A Bug's Life.

I agree with you mate, I REALLY enjoyed HTTYD, I downloaded it the other day but I'll be looking to get it on DVD as soon as possible. Quality film.

I know right! In fact my cat looks just like Toothless! It's black, it has the same eyes, and it even does the same things Toothless does (like when he stalks Hiccup, or when he twitches his head when he notices something). Watching the movie seriously made me wanna cuddle my cat, xD.

Haven't seen How To Train Your Dragon, but I probably should. I hope it beats TS3 in the Academy Awards. Found TS3 to be disappointing; I was told it was a massive tearjerker - left the theatre disappointingly happy. I'm one of the few who didn't really like Up either, very standard Pixar film I thought. Soundtrack was good but like Euphoric once said it's emotional climax is at the start with the weepy montage of the old guy and everything after that is a bit pale in comparison.

I finally bought Incredibles and Cars on DVD, the other week. I finally managed to get through one sitting of Cars, too. Every other time it had been a scratched rented DVD, corrupted .avi file or I missed parts on TV. I liked it.

Incredibles is still awesome, too.

I shall be downloading HTTYD tonight, and if I like it, buying it to watch with friends.

I've only seen the new one. I thought it was pretty good.

Speaking of which, I'm in another western mood so I'm downloading Jonah Hex.

Also, I saw Red the other day. I thought it was brilliant. Not as much as much action as I thought there would be, but the action that was there was quality. Just the fact that they're all old farts (apart from Bruce, who's only like 55) made everything they do so much more entertaining. I mean, seeing Helen Mirren take down dudes with a high caliber sniper rifle is just... wow.
