Is this true?

That's really interesting, thanks for posting it, it seems a promising game, but I won't be getting a PSP so I won't likely be able to play it

It's fun to speculate, but I didn't see any great knife, or any black hooded person. I saw a blurb carrying some sort of shiny weapon, which wasn't as big as the GK.

Well I think the PSP needs some quality titles, too... only ones I know of are Lumines, GTA: LCS, and THUG2 Remix

That trailer makes me love Silent Hill all over again It has always been one of my favourite gaming series, right next to Nightmare Creatures and Siren. My brother would have a fit over this trailer *runs off to go show him*

Indeed it looks way better than SH4 in my opinion. Maybe not graphics, but the story is already spot on better. It ties in the original story! Plus I think perhaps that scene with all of those weird hanging meat things, you hear this weird moaning noise, and this perhaps helmited, it wasn't the traditional helmit, but it could have been Pyramid Head without his helmit, but you really didn't get a good look of it. I am pleased with the progress, though I would have liked this to be on a xbox, or better a ps2 port, since I would like to play it with a bigger screen, it will be reason enough to get a psp...well I have one already, but seems like Silent Hill is coming back!

Plus we have the next gen Silent Hill coming out I hope sometime in 07, and if they are smart they will put it on the 360. That system has a bunch of actualy nice titles no...brilliant titles, they should know that would be the best direction to go if they have not already. Hopefully the original Silent Hill team are working on it, Silent Hill origins is not being officialy worked on them, but they did do the story thank God, but anyone can really create the creatures with guidance. So instead of doing it themselves they trained others and seem to have pulled it off very well, while they make the BIG Silent Hill game.

from what i read, silent hill origins is gonna be a prequal(game that starts before the events in silent hill 1) so may be sweet. although, ive also read that team silent didnt even make this. so whoever is creating it (besides team silent) most likely it will suck due to not the real creators.

I'm sure that most people know what a prequel is.

As for the different developers... Sometimes a series needs a fresh perspective. This could turn out really, really good, or it could suck, like you said. The only way we'll know is to wait and see.

As for me, I don't have a PSP and don't particularly want to buy one for a single game, so I will likely never get to play this.

Okay i know that this is a waaaaaaaaay old thread but, pyramid head is a manifestation of James from Silent Hill 2. The only way Pyramid Head would be in the game would be if James was there, which is impossible since James wouldn't have "done what he did" at that time. So that isn't pyramid head adn pyramid head will not be there.

No, Pyramid Head is NOT Jimmy Stone. That was just a rumor started because of the "Red Devil" thing. Pyramid Head was NEVER specified as the "Red Devil". Cujos13th is completley right. Pyramid Head was only there to punish James, and once James redeemed himself, Pyramid Head had no purpose and terminated himself.

you are wrong. in the same book of lost memories in page 85 says: pyramid head was born from the townspeaples idolatrous ideologies. not from james. you have to remember that every characters in game see mosters very diferents but that does not mean they dont exist. the abstral daddys was created from angela right? but james was able to see them too. in the valtiel sect they wear does robes and pyramid in homenage to valtiel when they were doing executions.and jimmy stone was the lider of taht sect. red pyramid thing red devil red god o_0

I dont think pyramid head is in origins though that would be *bleep*ing awesome! I cant wait to play it we should have been playing it early this year or later last year even but finally just over a week and I'm playing it!

It's not PH, it's a new monster (ripoff) called "The Butcher". An overhyped monster that's pretty easy to dispatch when you have to. The American/UK take on the PH style of character wasn't so hot. The Butcher killed monsters without PH's oddball seance style antics. It was blunt and pretty pointless. The psychology wasn't there with that character. But at least they showed there could be a character like PH on the PSP, what with Origins graphical capabilities and all. Now we just need some more psychological mindfracks, and we'll be o..er...insane.
