I know this appears over and over but I'm stuck in Indie.

Is it still possible to defeat him if his limiter is removed. i.e he can cast divine comedy straight away

It can be done, but only at around level 200 or so (I haven't done it so I'm just guessing about the level). You have to run though most of "The cave of Trials" back on Expel.

Head back to 'Fun City' and look for an old dude in the back of the Arena. Then look for the pyramid.

Actually, it's been done with level ~90 characters...on Universe mode, no less. xD

It requires a fairly complicated setup, but the basic part of it is that everyone's going to be acting at range. Dias (controlled by you) spams Air Slash to keep Indy from spamming spells like crazy, Chisato lays down the bulk of the damage with Preparation, while Rena and Celine buff with Angel Feather and Bless.

If you're going to go the close range route, though, I'd recommend a party of Claude, Chisato, Opera, and Bowman/Precis. Claude spams normal attacks (Holy Sword Farwell, Angel Armband, and Slayer's Ring equipped, of course), Chisato spams 10,000 Volts, Opera spams @ on One, and Bowman/Precis spams Explosion Pills/Ally-Oop!. Opera is crucial, since @ on One will keep him from straying too far if he breaks free of your comboing.

While we're on the subject of spamming, pull out those old Bloody Armors and have Opera use Healing Star a bunch.
Or pray that Algol activates. Worked for me.
Or pound on him like mad and pray like crazy.
I prefer the first two methods.
