Hi, Our family is thinking about getting a dog- does anyone know roughly how much in pounds it would cost in a year?

my grandma has a cat and she had it for a couple of years now and everytime i try to pet her she claws or try to bite my hand but when i sit down she comes up and starts sniffing me and is it because she smells fear on me when i try to pet her?

If you want your cat to like you, get some treats and coax it to come over to you. While it is eating you can pet it.

Trust me, I have 17 cats at home!

plus they're are some cats that just don't like other people, my grandmother had a cat that just loved her but when it came to strangers claws came out, I mainly payed attention to him because he hated it (picking it up and such, danger of getting clawed but I had my fun) also around home use to have a cat that always lived in the basement, if it was brought out from there it would run and hide and try to get back into the basement.

and o_O here where I live we use to have about 30 some cats =3 hobby farm, sadly down to only 11 now, 3 barn ones, 2 in the old house and 6 in the current home.

I have a cat that just loves me but is just afraid of other people will actually claw me if I brought her near anyone that is a stranger to her =\

I don't think necessarily its smelling fear on you, that's more other animals imo.
I have found that if cats have come from a pet rescue home or have been treated badly when much younger they can be a little weary of humans. they usually like to be in control of themselves, My Bengal will refuse to let anyone pick her up or stroke her with two hands apart from me. some cats have a trust in their owners but haven't got a trust in other humans.
It is best to just sit down, let the cat come to you and if the cat is ready, she will allow you to stroke her.

How about a boxer dog? I LOVE Boxers more then any other dog and they are so easy to look after. Personally I think they are the cutest dogs of all <3

Here is something I need to know: My mom says that someday we will get a dog but she wants one that isn't very tall, doesn't looks its face is mashed in(grrrrrrrr:#), doesn't shed much hair, and won't POOP all over the place. Does a Havanese sound great for this?

If a female/male cat is with a female/male dog can they have puppys or kitten?

The reason I ask is because I seen some cats and dog get along and since their bodies are very similar I was wonder if a female cat and a male dog or the other way around can have kittens or puppies?

I know its possible for cats and dogs to get along.
