Do you know anything about the platypus? I heard it's a mammal that venomates with it's hind claws. Ver unusual mammal. It lays eggs, has a bill, has fur, and gives milk. What a freak of nature

Jim Harrison didn't seem to happy about it in his reply, lol. The funny thing is I noticed this guy's facility is located in Washington state (where I live). In fact... this would be hard for you to believe, but I've seen the van that likely belongs to that facility because while driving to college the other day I was behind a van that said "Reptile Man."

I expect that his intent with that statement would be to identify the Barba Amarilla as the largest Lance-Head Viper. Although still too general for my tastes, I could accept that statement.

It really gets hard to follow when these television personalities start mixing technical information with common names and then throw in their own opinions or that of the channel/network.

Frankly, I think that a lot of the time they really don't care if they're being accurate. They're likely acting on the realization that their target audience is dazzled by the fact that they are on television and handling/working with a dangerous animal and will therefore accept anything they say as fact, no matter how absurd.

I saw that episode. I really can't say what that snake was. My impression was that it was a small Burmese, but the area that he was in geographically makes it more likely that it was an Indian Python (python molurus ssp).

He used the name Tiger Python in a manner that made me believe it was likely a local common name. My best guess is that the snake is probably a color morph of the nominate species rather than a species unto itself.

I just saw the commercial today and I was right. I think he also swang on a vine and jumped into the water with a Gaboon Viper. Another thing is just before this program tomarrow is Killer Instinct (Rob Bredl) and its the one with the Canebrake Rattlesnake. The one of the picture I showed you, Keiichi. I'll be watching that tomarrow as well. It was one fat Canebrake.

Yesterday, I watched the Croc Hunter and it was the Zebra Cobra one, lol. I did some research.

I thought I could see orange on the throat, but I might have been wrong I guess. Well, I guess I'll be back on the board tomarrow... today I'll watch that Austin Stevens Seven Deadly Strikes (Boomslang most toxic snake in the world) and Rob Bredl Snakes of the Everglades (Fat Canebrake Rattlesnake from picture I showed you on AIM).

Be wary of handling catfish.. I read they have a poisonous spine somewhere on their body (I think somewhere on the side, or near the underbelly.. don't exactly remember). It might not be too visible, but it's there. Who likes to to eat catfish anyway.. my dad used to eat curry catfish.. BLEH!!
