Memorial for Pets that have Passed Away - Page 3

My dog, Nico, died a few years ago, although i never really knew him long enough to get to know him i still miss him. I do remember some things, but not a lot.

I had a Cat. We moved. We had to give it away. I had another cat come to our house for food everyday. One day it got hit by a car and died. I got over it. Thats about it.. Since I live in a apartment, I can't even have any pets. But I used to.

I'm sorry to hear that, Dude. Hope you feel better soon.

Anyway, in the picture thread, I posted a couple pics of a mutt named Mindy. She was put to sleep. I can't remember why.

My pet crocodile died yesterday.
I'll never forget the time he bit off my arm, or when we met when he came crawling up my toilet.
His funeral was today but I can't be bothered to go because theres a good game on.

I lost my Abyssinian cat, Charcoal, in September of last year. She and I had been together for 13 years. Char had developed a condition known as endocarditis, an infection of the membrane surrounding the heart. Her lungs were filling with liquid and her liver and kidneys were also affected.

Our veterinarian has known us for a long time, and she knows my background with animals, so I was allowed to hold Char while she was being euthanized. It was good to know that she would finally be comfortable and out of pain, but still a difficult time.

A few days later, I received a letter from my vet. Inside was this little poem:

The Rainbow Bridge

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals that had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

The all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly, he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from you heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together. . .



Thinking of Charcoal is still painful, but this helps. Those of you who have lost pets can take comfort in knowing that you will have them restored to you.

A sweet cat who was black,white, and gray (all mixed up together) when we move again in Larder Lake (it was like our fourth time?) Ryan (my brother,16 now) found her in the bush alone, she was all alone so we brought her into our family. The only person she got into a real close connection was yours truly!She was killed by a wild animal at my dad's farm
