	Log in to remove this sponsored message Original thread This thread is devoted entirely to news, results, and discussions related to Japanese wrestling, or puroresu. For those new to puroresu, Japan boasts a handful of major promotions: New Japan: Founded and run by the Inoki family since 1972, New Japan was long considered puroresu's top promotion until a few years back, when its fortunes took a downturn under the leadership of it's former top star, Antonio Inoki. His son Simon now runs the promotion, which still hosts several major tournaments every year, including Best Of The Super Junior, G-1 Climax, and also hosts puroresu's biggest show every year-a WrestleMania-style super show the first week of January at the Tokyo Dome, which draws the biggest wrestling crowds in Japan. The promotion's championships are known as IWGP (International Wrestling Grand Prix) titles. All-Japan: Founded by legendary wrestler Shohei "Giant" Baba in 1972 and run by him until his death, All-Japan is among the most prestigious federations in Japan, having maintained strong ties to the NWA in the 70s & 80s. It too fell on hard times after Baba's death partly due to ownership disputes between Baba's widow, Motoko, and the President she helped appoint to run the promotion after Giant Baba's chosen successor, Mitsuharu Misawa, left-legendary wrestler Keiji Mutoh (aka The Great Muta among others). The promotion's championship is known as the "Triple Crown", partly because it consists of three unified championships. Pro Wrestling NOAH: The little kid of the puroresu block, this promotion was founded by Misawa and wrestlers defecting from All-Japan in 2000 and is quickly rising in prominence and popularity. Misawa remains active as a wrestler in the promotion along with top star Kenta Kobashi, among others, and NOAH has gained a following in the USA thanks to its working agreements with several promotions, most notably Ring Of Honor and Harley Race's World Leage Wrestling. NOAH's championships are referred to as the GHC (Global Honored Crown) titles. Zero-One MAX: Founded in 2001 by the late wrestler Shin'ya Hashimoto, this upstart promotion was an NWA affiliate from it's beginning until late 2004. Had a working agreement for a time with the TNA promotion. Dragon Gate: Originally known as Toryumon, this promotion, originally founded partly by popular wrestler Ultimo Dragon, specializes in what is commonly called Japanese Lucha Libre-a mix of Japanese wrestling and high-flying Mexican wrestling. Dragon Gate also has a working agreement with Ring Of Honor. Dragon Gate refers to their belts as "Open The 'surname here' Gate" titles. Tag team and 6-man matches are this promotion's specialty with tons of high-flying spots all over the place. Hustle: The WWE of puroresu. A relatively new promotion that emphasizes entertainment over sports, this promotion employs young talent and legendary names of the past with ridiculous, over-the-top, and somewhat controversial gimmicks...you'll even see a famous actor, actress, and a gravure/AV idol or two (think Playboy in Japan). Inter-gender (men vs. women) matches are not uncommon here. Other major independents include Michinoku Pro, Kensuke Office, and Big Japan among others. There are also still a handful of active joshi (women's) federations but they struggle to get by due to drops in popularity. The Japanese promotions, especially NOAH, also sometimes bring in gaijin (non-Japanese talent from America, Europe, etc.) either as regulars or for special appearances. When posting results I often refer to the major Tokyo arenas by abbreviations: Korakuen is Korakuen Hall, Ryogoku is Ryogoku Kokugikan, Budokan is Nippon Budokan (a major stadium that seats over 15,000 compared to about 2000 for most). Hiroyoshi Tenzan, Makabe, Shiro Koshinaka, & Tomoaki Honma beat Takashi Iizuka, Manabu Nakanishi, Riki Choshu, & Yuji Nagata in a 2 out of 3 falls match 2-1 in 19:45. Makabe pinned Choshu to win fall 1, Nagata pinned Honma to win fall 2, Makabe pinned Iizuka to win fall 3 and the match. Best Of The Super Junior: A Block: Wataru Inoue beat Taichi Ishikari in 13:33. B Block: Minoru beat El Samurai in 11:36. B Block: Koji Kanemoto & Gedoh went to a double countout. 6/12, F ukui: They claimed 1200 paid. Takashi Iizuka beat Takashi Uwano in 11:35 by submission. Shinsuke Nakamura beat Toru Yano in 8:38 by submission. Yuji Nagata, Naofumi Yamamoto, Manabu Nakanishi, & Riki Choshu beat Hiroyoshi Tenzan, Tomohiro Ishii, Shiro Koshinaka, & Makabe in 15:17. Nagata pinned Tenzan after a wrist clutch-style exploder. Best Of The Super Junior: A Block: Yujiro beat Milano Collection AT in 10:35. A Block: Tiger Mask 4 beat Taichi Ishikari in 8:59. B Block: Minoru beat Gedoh in 13:26. B Block: Koji Kanemoto beat Tetsuya Naito in 10:16 by submission. B Block: Ryusuke Taguchi beat El Samurai in 10:26. 6/14 (today), Tokushima: They claimed 856 paid. Tiger Mask IV & Taichi Ishikari beat Mitsuhide Hirasawa & GAINA in 12:32. TM 4 beat Hirasawa with a crab hold. Shinsuke Nakamura beat Tomohiro Ishii in 8:19 by submission. Makabe, Toru Yano, Shiro Koshinaka, & Hiroyoshi Tenzan beat Naofumi Yamamoto, Manabu Nakanishi, Riki Choshu, & Yuji Nagata in 13:49. Makabe pinned Yamamoto after a lariat. Naomichi Marufuji, Makoto Hashi, Atsushi Aoki and Doug Williams will wrestle for Germany's Westside Xtreme Wrestling (wXw) at their "Payback 2" event in Oberhausen, Germany on June 17th. CIMA, Dragon Kid and Takeshi Rikio are going to be at wXw's "True Colors 2007 ~CIMANIA" event on July 7th at the Musik Palette in Essen, Germany. Hustle: Weekly Pro reports that Don Fujii has a right hand injury (metacarpal bone fracture). All-Japan: Katsuhiko Nakajima vs. Shuji Kondo is the main event for 6/24 at Korakuen. Also on the card is Miguel Hayashi vs. Dick Togo. Hustle from Thursday at Korakuen: They claimed 2110 paid. That's a sellout with a little bit of an overflow. The Fake Choshus beat Kinterman & Crowderman in 8:39. Choshu-ka beat Kinterman with a "ka lariat". TAJIRI beat Kushida in 8:49. Wataru Sakata, Ryoji Sai, & Chie Ishii beat Scott Norton, "Fire Monster" ACHICHI (Ohtani), & Giant Vabo in 9:02. Sakata pinned Vabo after a diving foot stomp. 	Hustle, gotta love it. These are loose translations I'm going by, but if I'm reading them correctly, Milano Collection AT won the Best Of The Super Junior today at Korakuen (New Japan claimed a sellout of 2005 paid). He defeated Wataru Inoue in 19:37. In the semis Saturday at Kyoto, Milano beat Ryusuke Taguchi, and Inoue beat Minoru. Hustle claimed a sellout of 14,617 paid for Hustle Aid today at Saitama Super Arena. In the main event, HG beat Geni'chiro Tenryu in 11:55 to keep his mask. RG beat TAJIRI in 8:56. In his Hustle debut, Warren Cromartie (former baseball player) teamed with Ryoji Sai to beat Tiger Jeet Singh & Commander An Jo in 4:50.

	I've been curious. I'm not sure about Cade, but I've always seen Murdoch at the WLW shows. I know he basically got into the WWE because of Race, but I was curious on why he's still at their shows and stuff. Does WWE allow him and Cade to go back there and stuff?

(It's not terribly explicit, just maybe borderline disgusting) Dragon Gate: Several gaijin have been announced for Dragon Gate's Wrestle JAM side project running July 15-22: Pac, Austin Aries, Delirious, El Generico, Jorge Rivera, Jack Evans, Matt Sydal, Jimmy Rave, The Turboman, Muscle Gang, Black Thunder, and Bobby Cruise (ROH's ring announcer). Masaaki Mochizuki & Ryo Saito will wrestle for the AWF in NSW, Australia July 6-8.

	New Japan: Riki Choshu vs. Shiro Koshinaka and Takashi Iizuka vs. Toru Yano are booked for the 7/12 Sendai event. Orlando Jordan is also on the July tour, as is the return of former IWGP Champion Hiroshi Tanahashi. TV: For those who missed it a week or two ago, one of the Tiger Masks was seen on "Ninja Warrior" not too long ago-they are now showing the tournaments from the beginning and a Tiger Mask competed on the first or second one. This was from either 1998 or 1999, so although they only called him Tiger Mask it likely was TM 4 as I believe Koji Kanemoto had already stopped wearing the mask as TM 3 by that time. The Tiger Mask went out on the very first obstacle though, kinda funny.
