Are You Embarassed To Be A Wrestling Fan Sometimes?

Well I am. At school everyone is so ignorant and only see the 'You do know wrestling is fake' side to why I watch it. I don't even bother trying to explain how I know the matches are set up but the pain is real and I also watch it for the sometimes entertaining feuds.

Everyone knows I watch wrestling and most of them bring it up everytime they see me. Also I'm in the UK so with the added factor of chavs it can get worse.

I also get embarassed when I see particularly bad wrestling or bad moves by companies such as the WWE. They are getting themselves into the media more lately, Starting with the Donald Trump stuff and it's just showing more people how stupid WWE can be with people like John Cena and The Great Khali.

I remember when wrestling was 'cool' to watch in the attitude era with The Rock and Stone Cold Steve Austin. It's all we used to talk about in the playground at school but gradually all my friends grew out of it leaving me alone to be 'childish'. Well at least I know I actually am a wrestling fan. Does anyone else get anything like this?

I used to, but now it doesn't happen anymore. If anything, wrestling is talked about a lot in my school, as a regular thing. For some reason, no one even points out the fact it's fixed/fake whatever, some of us just know it and others don't. It's cool

It's funny though because some of my friends are complete marks, but I can't be assed telling them all that shit about this being true and this not being.

But I agree with you on the fact that the WWE sometimes make themselves look stupid when they bring in people like The Boogeyman and the Spirit Squad, when like you said, they're starting to get heard by the media a bit more now. Then again, that's entertainment, so whaddya want *shrugs*

People laugh at me when i class Wrestling the sport I watch.

They say it's fake and all that shit but i say yes but it's very entertaining it's funny at times which is why i like it, i started watching it when i was baout 4, i'm now 21 i will never grow out of it even though people including my family have said i would but the thing is i won't!.

I'm from North Carolina. Y'know, Flair country? Yeah, no reason to be embarrassed. lol

Besides, my form of entertainment if more real than there movies and television shows so yeah, there ignorant to what wrestling is and just think WWE everytime you say 'wrestling' anyway, so it doesn't matter what they think to be honest.

Usually I tell them to check out ROH and other feds that take it more serious. I take the time to explain to them that it's not what they call "completely fake" which shocks a lot of them. How I don't know? How the *bleep* can you fake wrestling? I never understood the thought process of them knowing how to not get hurt. NEWSFLASH! It hurts.

Exactly! You were like in my mind. Sure, wrestlers do stuff to protect themselves, but in the end, they are hitting the mat hard. And that is just the technical stuff. Like Jeff Hardy's leg drop on Edge at WM 23. You can't fake that crap! Probably hurt as hell. Unless Jeff had wires attached to him, that was real as it could be!
