Forum: [ Opinion / Feedback ]

Needed some feedback. I've been stepping back lately to avoid online spoilers/rumors; makes the shows more unpredictable and enjoyable that way. In doing so I feel like I'm out of touch with the forum community. I added banners to the majority of the Stickied threads and was wondering what everyone thought of them (ie. S&R, TNA, WWE PPV, TNA PPV).

Stay? Should they go? Also each month I try to add a new forum banner for the current WWE PPV (usually just rip whatever WWE.com has on their site) and was also wondering if people liked this or if they'd prefer a member-made banner that we'd update every so often.

Personally, I like the PPV banners I put up each month when they're available. Spoilers are still a problem, but they're not as drastic (considering the amount of title changes that have taken place in the last month) as they could be. I appreciate members following the rules and appreciate those who report the rule breakers. Keep it up everyone.

For the situation with the header and stuff with not wanting spoilers with that, why not have an offical forum header with the smaller banner for the upcoming PPV under it. Currently as I look at the header, it has Batista and Mark Henry but under it as a seperate image, it has the PPV name and when it's on, so I hope you know what I'm getting at with just having the smaller banner with a main header preferbly made by a frequent forum visitor, but of course that's just my idea.

To be honest, I don't think having the forum look fancy is important, sure it's a little bonus for it to be appealing but I do think that keeping everything sorted with the spoilers etc as more of an issue.

I think the posts should stay, otherwise there will be people making spoiler posts all over the place in here.

But no-one really cares for other promotions except WWE. So I'd just keep it as the WWE PPV header.

And for the header competitions every month, do you KNOW how fussy TLA is?

There are some people who do care, even if it is just a minority. I even offered an image advertising UFC 62 which I think should have gone up, even if there is only about 5 people who seem to like it. Every wrestling fan knows who Ken Shamrock and Tito Ortiz are anyway. And TNA has a large community on Neo, and the events are pretty much always on different weeks to WWE's so there wouldn't be much of a clash. I'm not being biased but I just think if it's a wrestling forum, the talk shouldn't all be to one promotion. That's all I'm saying.

Ok being serious, the thread banners don't slow anything down for me and its nice to look at in a way. And keep the forum header as the next WWE PPV. I've got used to it now ever since New Years Revolution.

Sometimes I have to use dial-up, but the loading time of these banners isn't that bad. By my estimates, it only takes less than 15 seconds for the whole page to load (including the banner; I don't have anything that could tell me how long it takes for the page to load, so I had no choice but to take a guess). That said, I think the banners are fine and should stay the way they are.

But there is one other thing that I was wondering about. Whenever I listed PPV predictions (when they were allowed, that is), I wouldn't just say who I felt would win, I would go into an explanation as to why I was going the way that I was going. The lengths of these explanations would add up to these long posts (and that took a while to type, sometimes 30-60 minutes). I'm not complaining about not being able to list PPV predictions, but I was wondering if being too long-winded was also an issue because I know being too short-winded was the issue that I read in the forum rules.

I use dial-up...but the banners don't effect it. As long as we don't go banner/decoration-crazy like MySpace.
