Nah, but srsly, Maiden are far and away my favourite band ever, and I was lucky enough to see them live a year or two ago. I've never understood the hype behind Zeppelin (aside from the obvious few, Stairway, Achilles' Last Stand etc). And Metallica are fine, but against, just never really clicked with me. I prefer Heavy Metal to Thrash.

I'm a fan of Maiden myself, one of my friends is bonkers for them. I've got a healthy respect for them.


Part of the hype of Led Zep is because none of the band members carry each other, there's no weak links. + the fact that their music can be so damn varied. They go from pure, bleeding blues in I Can't Quit You Baby, to big orchestral pieces like The Rain Song, to giant rock ballads like No Quarter or Achilles' Last Stand and then there's just pure hard rock, in The Ocean.


Any Led Zep fan that says they love all of their songs is a damn liar, I cannot stand the entire In Through The Out Door album and pretend it doesn't exist, even songs like D'yer Mak'er which splits up my favourite Led Zep album, Houses of the Holy I dislike.


They were the forefront of hard rock/heavy blues and took over moulding the style where Cream, Blind Faith, The Yard Birds, etc. left off.



Tell me we can both agree on Them Crooked Vultures being *bleep*ing amazing though.

They have so much potential but they aren't that good.

It's a great combo, Homme's croon, Grohl's manic drumming and JPJ's groove.

Didn't do it for me, I'm afraid. Can't really explain why, it just wasn't something I see myself listening to.
