Matt Hardy is no worse in the ring than Randy Orton (I love the guy, but come on), he's a hell of a lot better than Cena or Batista, Triple H, etc. He's not a big imposing guy, but he's no smaller than Shawn Michaels, or anyone like that. Yes, he's not great on the mic, but he's not as horrendous as Jeff is. And I love AJ, but Matt has mic skills that topple AJ's, which is why I wouldn't even mind seeing him as TNA Champion. And Matt Hardy has earned his spot. Matt Hardy has killed his body for the fans. Those ladder matches... yeah, they had more than just Jeff and Edge in them. Matt Hardy was a part of all of those things too. Sure, he didn't spot monkey everything, but he can do some impressive things (Leg Drop from the steel cage, etc). Matt is well-rounded and can legitimately ground and pound/do some mat work.

Matt has a mind for the business too. He has said before that he was the one to think of everything the Hardyz did. While Jeff was running around not knowing what to do as far as pacing of the match and "story telling," etc., Matt was the guy behind all of that. He has pitched many ideas to the office, but hey, they wanted to keep him around as the guy who treads water and "teaches the young guys." Well I don't think teaching the young guys includes jobbing out to all of them. WWE mismanaged him and putting all that into perspective, really there are only TWO negative things about Matt Hardy. Number one is his mic skills. Number two is... his ring gear. A couple of years ago when he got himself some pant tights, I thought that he looked a lot more like a main eventer than when he switched back to the baggy pants.

And there's nothing even wrong with Matt to say that he can't be a main eventer, it's just he's never been given the opportunity, so we don't even have a standard to judge him by.

Well Matt's a good wrestler, but he just doesn't have the presence of a legitimate main eventer and I can't forsee any circumstance where I buy him as such. Also, there's been very few main event wrestlers who reached the top with next to no mic/promo skills. Jeff gets away with it because he's much more charismatic than Matt is, which is just something you naturally have or don't have.

Seriously, towards the end of his tenure he was treated like shit, which would explain his actions.

Or his actions explain how they treated him. Chicken and egg. Can't really say which came first without knowing what goes on behind the scenes.

I don't even like AJ Styles but he's more interesting to watch in the ring than Matt and his mic skills have been getting better (slowly) in the last few months.

He's an average looking guy, with slightly above average in ring talent, and below average mic work, whose best days are behind him. Absolutely no loss to WWE. He was pretty worthless without Jeff there.

That's a bit harsh on Jannetty Matt's so much worse.

Yeah, Matt Hardy must go, we don't have the time to work on a storyline for him, creative control is much too busy deciding how they're gonna have santino and hornswoggle make asses out of themselves with guest hosts to focus on someone who has been loyal to the company for over 10 years, it's a shame.
