I agree with enzuguri.

Last I checked, a wrestling match was put on by two men or women, not two men and a chair. I know it seems a bit unlike me considering I love street fights and the original ECW...but after the whole Benoit disaster, health should be a priority for wrestlers.

There are loads of great matches in history that did not involve a single weapon. Do chairs make matches better? DEFINITELY. But as some have mentioned, chair shots can be done on other areas of the body that may not be as harmful as shots to the head...at the end of the day, longer careers for our favorites is a win-win. Or a loss if we're dealing with Cena. But mostly a win-win.

Another point of view could be that there trying to dilute a contact sport, their messing about taking things away when one bad Power bomb, top rope move and someone could brake there neck and become paralyzed, all it takes is one move

Some of you cry over spilled milk way too much in this forum. Not like every match involves chairs. It's not even chairs, any blunt object has been banned from the sounds of it. The way they worded it with the "intentional striking" bit, sounds like if you go off the scripted plan of the match and hit them in the head with a weapon. Then as has been stated, it also sounds like a work and wouldn't be surprised next week on RAW to see Vince cut a promo how Bret can't use a weapon on him or Vince will sue him.

This is a good idea in general, as this should cut back on the number of concussions suffered in the WWE. Don't ask me how they're going to go without chairshots at the Extreme Rules PPV because I foresee that as being a challenge. That is, unless they plan on putting a metal trash can over someone's head, and then rapping on it repeatedly with the ring bell's hammer (comedy spot, except the person on the receiving end of that is going to have one bitch of a headache).

Long-term, this is in the best interest of the WWE Superstars.

Initially I was concerned that they were taking away all chair shots, and I was like WUUUUUUT? *insert Cornette face here*

But, yeah the more I think about it, this is for the best. I think especially considering how many former wrestlers have died in recent years, this is a smart move.

Pretty much how I feel. I mean, I'm not against the rule at all, nothing there to be against really, it's just that you feel this would fit more as severely frowned upon, instead of a rule. Packed with common sense really, writes itself.

I recall someone was yelled at in TNA backstage a while back for not blocking the chair with his hands when he was hit with a chair shot to the head(forgot who).

I am pretty sure that Rhino or Team 3D yelled at him for that.

How about we get you in a wrestling match with one of those "panzy nancys" and see how long you last.
