Details were skim, but rumors circulated that it will instead allow a 5-6 week gap between Armageddon in December, with the Royal Rumble in January to allow storylines to better develop. More than likely, with HHH going into WrestleMania Main Event as WWE Champ, again.

I know this sounds a little crazy but I would really like to see someone from ECW win the Royal Rumble Match. If someone from that brand ended up beating 29 other superstars from all three shows, it would really give ECW a lot of credibility. I'm not saying the brand does not have any but if one of it's superstars won, it would really push the brand as a big one that can stand with Raw and Smackdown rather than just a little 1.3 Rating television program. WWE's goals may not be much on pushing ECW, but if they really want it to get big, this would be a good way to do it.

Does that mean anything? Well yeah it does, it just gives him that ultimate heel style Burngun was talking about to begin with... those sort of bookings are what constructs heels, besides he had his clean wins from time to time, over Triple H and HBK.

JBL went through nine months as champ with getting like ONE clean win over his challengers.

That wouldn't work for two reasons. One, CM Punk isn't even high main-event material, and I mean on the same level as most of the other main-eventers on Raw and SmackDown!. If an ECW superstar were to win the Rumble, would people really tune in to see that superstar facing off against CM Punk at Mania... in the main-event? That's reason number two - which kinda intertwines with reason number one - that WWE sure as hell wouldn't put an ECW title match so high up the card. Both guys wouldn't generate that much interest for such hype.

the orton title reign has been a joke, and i'm a fan of orton.

doesn't have to be clean wins, he could use a chair when the ref is turned, or have others interfere, but to see him every week face down on the floor is pathetic and not "ultimate heel" standard
