Piccolo knows that he improved his own power immensely in the 3 years, so of course he would question whether they had become too strong for the Androids, especially considering that he is superior to Android 20. He doesn't, however, remember exactly how strong SSJ Trunks was 3 years prior, which is why he deduced the two possible scenarios. None of that points to Piccolo being stronger than SSJ Trunks, though, or any SSJ period.

Of course not, and trunks being the same he was 3 years ago says trunks got back, charged the machine and went back in time again. Piccolo equaling trunks is bullshit, sorry...

Wait, where is it suggested that 19/20 are superior to SSJ Trunks?

Well Sleazy, Vegeta makes it very clear they are not as bad as what Trunks implied.

But even that can't really debunk them being greater than SSJ Trunks.

What JackJack, P123, and I guess Infamous are saying is the fact Piccolo doesn't know for sure makes them more powerful than SSJ Trunks...since Trunks said that they were more powerful than himself.

If they were less powerful than Trunks, then Piccolo wouldn't have said "have we grown too strong"...it would be obvious that these Androids are not the same as the ones Trunks was talking about.

This makes the Androids stronger than SSJ Trunks, and Piccolo even stronger than them.

How do we know for sure whether 19 and 20 are stronger/weaker than SSJ Trunks?

Piccolo doesn't know how strong SSJ Trunks is or was because he hadn't sensed Trunks SSJ power for over 3 years. His comment that they, specifically himself, may have grown too strong for the androids is based on the fact that he doesn't know how he compares to SSJ Trunks, but it soon becomes obvious that those androids are much weaker than the ones that Trunks struggled with, meaning that his "we have become too strong" theory is false anyway. SSJ Trunks is obviously superior to both 19/20 and Piccolo.

The quote that Mirai provided proves that SSJ Trunks is superior to Piccolo as Piccolo implies that Trunks is the strongest non-Vegeta member of the group, which includes himself.

The fact piccolo could take in them says they are weaker than trunks.....Mira said it best...piccolo even trunks, as a super saiyan could not do anything...piccolo is admitting even ssj trunks cant do anything, muc less themselves.....piccolo taking on android 20 proves they are weaker...
