Ok guys, some changes in policy around here (Neo as a whole, not just this forum) The decision was made 3 days ago and I just found out about it yesterday and got all the details today. (See, Legendary Boss Hunter I wasn't THAT late finding out about it... )

Off Topic GD's no longer have to be deleted like they had to be in the past. However, post count will be turned off in all off topic GD's... Therefore when you post in an off topic GD, your post count will not increase or decrease, even if you make a post under 72 characters long and it is deleted for whatever reason.

I for one like this new policy, as Neo staff realized off topic lounges are where many "bonds and Neo relationships" are formed because you get a chance to converse with members of a forum about things that are not all about that forums subject matter specifically, such as DB here...

But, at the same time, most of us here on Neo also understand that in the past some members used off topic GD's just to spam excessively JUST to increase post count, which was annoying... Thus why post counts are to be turned off completely in off topic GD's as of now.

So, depending on who you are, you may like or dislike this new policy, but I for one think it's better than the old deletion policy.... Which would take away from your post count if you made a post under 72 characters when the GD was deleted. With this new policy, we don't have to worry about deleting them, so we don't have to worry about post count decreasing, but it will also not increase either in these threads, which is fine....







Also, something I just realized that has apparently been a rule for quite some time, game threads that are deemed low value with no real information in them are to be deleted after they are over.

So, guess what that means folks? All of the Freezas Spy threads, Character Battle Threads, etc... are to be scheduled for deletion, so there is no need for us to index past Freeza Spy/Character Battle threads in each new thread anymore really.... I don't see how the Freeza Spy has any value. It's the same thing as the Killer on the Loose in GMB. Sign up as a character, vote, small story, vote again, etc.

It's got little value.

Brad nailed it, the Freeza Spy threads contain no actual factual/useful information, no matter how much of a story you write for it... Sorry to put it so bluntly Jeff, I know you put some work into the ones you hosted, but that's how it is and how they are seen.... I don't think any other mod/super would disagree....

And while the Freeza Spy/Killer On the Loose type threads do require SOME thought to try and figure out the killer, it contains no real thought as pertaining to useful/factual info for the series....

As far as the Character Battle threads, winners will be listed and kept track of by me in all current/future threads.... They contain no real value as it is just a voting thread, no thought put into it at all...

I will deal with and have the character battle threads under control, but it is up to the rest of you to make the necessary changes, updates, and modifications needed to the other game threads that are to be deleted that I am not hosting/running...

I know it's a pain in the ass to deal with for certain issues, but it will just have to be done, or forgotten about.... Your call, but I can't change the rules on that and I already marked all of the old Freeza Spy/Character Battle/Word Association/etc... threads for deletion... You have 90 days to gather the info you need from those threads... The only threads I marked for deletion earlier than 90 days is the word association threads because no one needs those for anything so I marked them for deletion in 7 days... The one Millennium Master won I marked for 20 days just cause...

I don't know, that suggestion seems unnecessary to me and since it would relate to the game threads that are to be deleted, I don't think it would make sense to do that and leave them on the forum when the game threads they are related to get deleted anyway.... I would think a super would probably say those are to be deleted as well because they directly relate to those same deleted game threads....

I for one am going to just save the OP code and winners list of the previous character battles in a word document on my HDD.. That way I will never lose the info or lose track of the info because I will stay on top of it....

I realize that will be harder for you guys because the Freeza Spy games are run by different people in each thread, but it seems to me your not really upset about retaining info for the game itself, just the amount of work you put into the stories.... Which I understand and can sympathize with, but I don't see how making a whole new thread just for that type of stuff will work and would ultimately need to be deleted along with those game threads as well because they would be directly linked and related to those game threads themselves you see?



And yes, I know you guys put a lot of work into them sometimes, but as I said, I can't do anything about that.... Any mod/super would agree they should be deleted, regardless of how much work you put into the storyline, so my hands are tied with that ultimately...


I think it would be best to just change what you need to change in the current game threads, and keep track of it from there as best you guys can....

That's the reason I am marking them for deletion after 90 days.... 3 months is plenty enough time for you to gather what you need to gather and have posted in the current thread..... After we get caught up with all that stuff, it won't be to much of a pain in the ass as the future rolls along, trust me....

I feel it may deter some of you from putting a LOT of effort and work into your story telling and whatnot for Freeza Spy threads and such, but if that's what happens, so be it.... As long as the game still serves it's purpose, is active, and is fun enough, you guys don't have to feel the need to put a ton of effort into your story writing and such.... If you do, that's fine too, but they will be deleted either way....




BTW, I am not trying to totally dismiss your suggestion, I am just not seeing the real point of it and I think they to would need to be deleted after some time for being related to the game threads, thus deemed unnecessary, so if I am missing something, please feel free to elaborate on your suggestion Jeff.... I am all ears....
