Well, in the interest of fairness; nothing is for certain. We don't know whether Goku was stronger than Vegeta or vice versa, all we have to go by is a vague statement from Piccolo which was more like a guess rather than anything else. I do side with Vegeta in this matter because I feel that the whole sequence (where Vegeta transformed into a Super Saiyan and pwned #19) portrays Vegeta as the stronger of the two, but it's not factual by all means. All that is fact is SSJ Vegeta > sick SSJ Goku.

I guess they failed at that, since they were both apparently still weaker than Gohan and Goku during the Cell Games. Maybe those two are just gifted. This would lend even more credence to my theory that Goku was stronger than Vegeta all along.

They were far weaker, that if anything was obvious. As for why they were so much stronger, that is more than likely mostly courtesy of them fully attaining MSSJ; whereas Trunks and Vegeta at best partially attained it.

Goku, at no point in his battle with #19 was at full power. Before he even transformed into a Super Saiyan, the virus was already visibly affecting him (sweating bullets, heavy breathing). So despite the fact that Super Saiyan greatly accelerated the virus, it was already tearing away at him before he even transformed. He was not in top phyisical shape, which means he was not at full power either...

And the thing that makes me refrain from saying Vegeta > Goku is a fact is the above ^, in combination with Piccolo's vague implications, of which he wasn't at all sure. He suspected that Vegeta surpassed Goku, and I agree that he probably did, but because Goku never displayed his full Super Saiyan capabilities, he could not tell for certain. And if he can't, then neither can we given we have the same information to work with.

Agreed, the evidence (or rather; implications) heavily favor Vegeta. I was just making clear that Vegeta isn't factually confirmed to be more powerful, we only have Piccolo's statement to work with, which, as he himself wasn't 100% sure of what he was saying, is at best a good indicator. I'll take it though, as it's something at least whereas nothing pleas for Goku here...

That's nothing, you should see the numbers I gave him. IIRC, the 250 million pre-ROSAT you listed is pretty close to what I had, but post-ROSAT, I had Super Saiyan Goku around the 5 billion mark...
