They do, indeed. Why is that anyway? And does that only happen in the American anime, or the original Japanese as well? I guess Toei gave the Namekians five fingers to make them look more human and even less scary perhaps, but then, why the green skin color? I dunno, another option could be that Toei didn't pay much attention to AT's original manga design for the Namekians and thus didn't notice they only had four fingers and gave them five in the anime because they didn't know any better...

I don't quite know what you mean by that, but the American anime IS the Japanese anime GOGETA.... All dubs of the anime are the same raw footage wise, taken directly from Toei's original Japanese version footage... Just with different languages.... Some dubs cut stuff out and edit blood (Or change names such as the Bridge dub), especially back in the earlier days of DBZ dubbing, but that's cutting stuff out, they never add stuff footage wise... So aside from minor edits, all the dubs are the same as the Japanese version as far as raw footage goes, as the dubs were taken directly from the Japanese anime. They don't re draw and re animate the series for every country it is dubbed in.

So, yeah, they have 5 fingers in the Japanese version anime too... Funi, nor any other dub company didn't add extra fingers, it was all Toei...

And I am pretty sure they got the colors for Piccolo off of a manga cover or something colored by AT.... Unlike Toeis mix up of Vegetas colors when they went to Arlia, they never had to correct Piccolos color scheme.... So he was supposed to be green.

I wouldn't look to far into it myself GOGETA... I just simply see it as a screw up, not paying attention.... They probably figured that Nameks had 5 fingers like humans... Which isn't a stretch considering Saiyajins and even Freeza have 5 digit fingers... Unless Freeza has 4 fingers in the manga too... I never checked... LOL

Yeah, which is why I mentioned edits and cutting stuff out.... The raw footage aside from those edits are the same... They are all from the original Toei created footage.


And that is only true for earlier American dubs.... Todays up to date dubs have nothing cut out and are exactly the same as the Japanese version footage wise.

As I was reading this I noticed that there was one things that was taken into account. That one thing is that there is a species of lizard that is completely female. This type of lizard lays, but the eggs are just clones of themselves . If you think about it, Namekians spit the eggs out of their mouths, so they could, theoretically, have male reproductive organs, considering that they're all referred to as "he," implying that they're all male. And since Dende says that the Namekians all reproduce asexually, they could be like the all female species of whiptail lizards.

As my brother already stated above, they are nor male or female. Namekians, or based on the Japanese root word, Namekse-jin tranlates to slug people. They are not based on lizards at all. They're not even comparable to slugs aside from their antannae. The reason they call them he is because they have male structured bodies. Even if they have a penis or what have you, that doesn't make them male if they are asexual.

Infertile means you cannot have babies, regardless of whether you are sexual or asexual.
