Goku says the same thing about Gotenks' power in comparison to his in the anime as in the manga: nothing. He only comments on the fact that they can use SSj 3 at a young age.

alright, it just seems in the funi dub that when goku is talking with supreme kai, the tone in his voice just kind of suggests that he is as strong as gotenks. doesnt really matter it is the anime after all:P

Anything is possible in Toei's world, and they certainly seem to like overhyping Kid Buu in the anime don't they? Admittedly, I don't remmember that particular Goku quote 100% accurately from the top of my head, but I vaguely remember him saying something about Kid Buu being twice as strong as every opponent he ever faced before. And he also fought with Buutenks and Buuhan in the anime, so...

The anime has a some funny paradoxes going on; first it has Goku taunt Buucollo and say "he couldn't be planning to beat him like that", but yet stated unaltered Super Buu could not be overcome unless he and Vegeta fused, and Buucollo is stronger than Super Buu, if only by the tiniest of margins, but he is regardless. Piccolo and the boys is the difference. The Kid Buu quote is another such thing; Goku states Kid Buu is twice as powerful as anyone he ever faced before, which would include Buuhan, but yet he fought evenly with Kid Buu at SSJ3 but yet he insisted that merging with the Potara's was the only way he and Vegeta could fight Buuhan...

At the end of the day, we can conclude one thing, that Toei (and Funimation), seemed to have NO clue what they were doing at times in the Buu arc...


Oh, and if someone could be so kind as to look up that Goku quote on Kid Buu's power in the anime I would appreciate it. I would like to know what was really said. I'm not the best when it comes to remembering quotes so I could be having the wrong thing in mind. Thanks

That's not what I was talking about. This is. I know this crappy fanslation sucks, but in the original Viz release, it's stated Goku uses Bukujutsu there, which means "levitation" or "flight".

So Goku could fly in Dragonball, albeit for very brief periods most likely, as he was still relatively new with the ability. Even in early Z he uses Kintoun to travel longer distances and most likely to conserve ki as well, since powerlevels in early Z were still rather low...

Yeah, I know what Bukujutsu means, but it still doesn't make sense why he would use the feet kame when it uses up more ki than flying would.... That's a waste of ki he could have used on Piccolo Jr....

Maybe Viz messed that up like they have been known to mess up other minor quotes and statements that you have pointed out in the past.... I would still like to think he didn't know how to fly until Z started... That's the only logical way to explain why he would use a move like the feet kame for the sole purpose of propelling himself into the air to reach Piccolo and fight him... Maybe it is a contradiction, I dunno....

The quote I was referring to was made during the SSJ2 Goku vs. Kid Buu filler fight, and I could have sworn it said something along the lines of Kid Buu being the strongest opponent Goku ever faced. Though I could be wrong, I must admit, haven't seen that battle in years...

Maybe they did, but as long as that's not a solid fact, I hold that quote as evidence that Goku could use Bukujutsu. Btw, didn't you also use to argue Goku could fly at that point? I'm pretty sure the two of us were on the same side not too long ago when we had a debate about this with Rocky. Doesn't matter to me, I change my mind too at times, just out of curiosity...

Yes, it a necessity. Super Saiyan 4 in essence, is nothing more than a controlled, perfected Oozaru form. No tail = no Oozaru, so no SSJ4 either.

GOGETA - No, I didn't change my mind... Back when we discussed it with Rocky, I argued that he didn't start flying until the fight with Raditz... I thought YOU were on the same page I was... LOL.... weird...



Hey, I just had a thought.... Perhaps the reason why Goku used the feet kamehameha was to propell himself into the air at a much faster speed than normal flying would allow him, as he was somewhat new to the ability? What do you think? It could work.... Still a waste of ki though.....

Personally I had Goku unable to fly till he hit the Other World.....
